Light haze in a yellow - gold glass that sports a lasting tight white head that coats the side of the glass in a thick curtain.
(insert Monty Python Elderberry joke here). Beyond the rose petal raspberry jam note of the berry, the coriander is pretty subtle and overwhelmed by a metric ton of hops. The hop notes are both earthy and citric and do let a bit of the fruity note through.
Slight tea tannin in the bitter intensity of the hops. A bit of fermented berry in the finish.
Puckering dry finish doesn't encourage the next sip. Slightly gritty carbonation, medium body.
I love Stone because they go big and they love hops. I love hops too, but this one is a bit too earthy for me. There is a slight tonic in the finish, something slightly metallic. A couple annoying elements to a well made beer.
