Many thanks to Px2GrafX for this little guy.
Good ol 22oz stone bomber. The back of this one is probably my favorite anniversary rant. . .its got my favorite word on it: Floccinauccinihilipilification. Gotta love it.
Pouring in to my trust Stone pint glass. Pours ridiculously dark. A very, very, very dark amber. . closer to mahogany. Almost no head. Hard to see through the murkiness, but there is some bubble action going on. Head is already gone.
Nose is very close to my lovely arrogant, bastardly little friend. Definite grape fruit action, some prunes. . .and hint of cherry? Very musty, perhaps a coffee overtone.
Tastes like a black and tan made with arrogant bastard and stone smoked porter (as if you could call that a black and tan). Very roasty flavor, very noticeable coffee flavor as well. Tastes a bit flat (not bad flat, but stout flat), with a carbonation/alcohol zing at the back. Starts off pruney like the bastard, but its predominately stout flavored from there on out. Pretty damn tasty, just not eye-opening like most of Stones offerings.

On tap at Lucky Baldwins in Pasadena, CA.
Pours a murky dark brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, citrus zest, and some herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with a mild roasty and citrus zest bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that smells better than it tastes in my opinion.

Draft to 4oz Taster
App- Mixing interestingly in the glass was a light brown with ambers/golds. Not a spec of head on it or cling.
Smell- Almost identical to Stone 7, which is suprising because of the difference in styles. I did smell more malt vs the soap on this one.
Taste- A really pleasant malty flavor with a small amount of bitter. A bit thick at points but a little bit of citrus crept into it.
Mouth- A lighter medium with a medium high carbonation and some sweetness.
Drink- Just okay. It was a bit all over the place with feel and looks but tasted good. Probably wouldnt want again.
