Appearance: Lighter brown, somewhat close to the color of bourbon.
Smell: As my first brown ale, this was an experience. Somewhat sweet, but the color kept making me think of a dark wheat bread.
Taste: As I smelled, somewhat sweet, perhaps a smokey sugar, yet bitter. Again, as I drank this mildly bitter beer, I could not keep images of wheat bread from entering my head.
Mouthfeel: Good. Not too thick, yet not thin in the least.
Drinkability: Pretty darn good. I could drink this beer for a while.
Overall: Good. As I put 4's across the board, Good perfectly describes this beer. I hate to be so bland, but good is an excellent modifier.

On tap at Lucky Baldwins in Pasadena, CA.
Pours a murky dark brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, citrus zest, and some herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with a mild roasty and citrus zest bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that smells better than it tastes in my opinion.

Draft to 4oz Taster
App- Mixing interestingly in the glass was a light brown with ambers/golds. Not a spec of head on it or cling.
Smell- Almost identical to Stone 7, which is suprising because of the difference in styles. I did smell more malt vs the soap on this one.
Taste- A really pleasant malty flavor with a small amount of bitter. A bit thick at points but a little bit of citrus crept into it.
Mouth- A lighter medium with a medium high carbonation and some sweetness.
Drink- Just okay. It was a bit all over the place with feel and looks but tasted good. Probably wouldnt want again.
Serving type: on-tap
