Poured from 1 liter growler into large snifter
A: Deep, golden color and hazy. Unable to see through, but very attractive. A one finger head appeared on a hard pour and left decent lacing as I drank the beer down.
S: Very strong aroma or fresh evergreen; strong, super fresh hops with floral notes. It reminded me of sticking my nose into fresh growing hops at the Redhook brewery several years ago.
T: Very bitter, and hoppy with a similar profile to the smell. Pretty crisp for the outrageous bitterness. Leaves a strong aftertaste that lingers on for some time. That can get a bit annoying.
O: To me the taste is very similar to the regular ruination IPA but with a fresher hop taste and slightly stronger, fresher hop aroma. I will review a regular ruination IPA soon as I have a few in the fridge. It is a very good beer for what it is: a crazy hopped IPA. The first time I had this beer, it paired deliciously well with very spicy enchiladas I made. It should be noted that I love hop forward beers.
Serving type: growler
