I too am in the same spot as SV650TN below because I had this tonight at Stone for their Wednesday night cask special and movie on the lawn and mine was also dry hopped with the amarillo but centenial hops were used as the 2nd dry hop andI too also can not add a beer because I have not reviewed enough. This has to be one of my favorite beers and im not even a hop head.

First coming out of the cask it looks beautiful with a white fresh-look untill it settles for a second with a nice creamy looking head and a golden creamy looking body.

The smell is amazing with those two hops combined, this my turn me into a hop lover because now thinking about it I am craving those hops.

The taste is a perfect balance of anintence hop flavour with a nice malty base to balence it all out.

The mouth Feel reminded me of a good crem ale on a nitrogen tap.

I drank two of these and if I hadnt shared a westy 12 and a Tommy Arthur Signature Brew Master Colaboration with Linden from the Stone Store, and also a stone IPA, I would have drank that all night with my beer Mac-n-Cheese.

Simply one of my Favorite Brews.

Pours into a nonic a clear medium golden with a frothy whitehead atop.Alot of hop complexity in the nose with some fresh cut grass, herb, and tropical fruits,a bit of toasted grain and mild sweet alcohol as well.Flavors start out herbal and grassy and then kind of a drunken fruitiness comes into play with a bit of toastiness in the finish. Not big and sharp and/or bitter just great hop complexty and I like the little toasted grain element.

On tap at Stone

A - Pours a hazy burnt orange with one finger of off-white head. Head has nice retention and leaves good lacinf.

S - Citrus and grassy hops. Some biscuity malt as well. Nice and herbal.

T - Very grassy to start with, with some nice citrus hops. Hopping is nice and assertive, but not over the top. Enough malt to provide some balance but definitely hop forward.

M - Mouthfeel is very smooth, with consistant hop bitterness throughout. Finish is earthy, dry and bitter.

O - Almost a little tame considering the base beer, but not at all in a bad way. Very tasty.

A - Golden, copper-ish color with minimal head retention.

S - Very lively citrus smells from the crazy amount of hops used in creating this beer. Very much a cistrus-y hopped double IPA with a sweet, almost fruit syurp smell to it.

T - Immediate bright bitterness hits my tounge that is complimented by a citrus fruit tone that coats the bitter hop taste. The after taste is a limited amount of bitterness on the back of the tounge that begs for another sip.

M - Mmm the hops are oozing with character that invites you in for another sip. I can't get enough of this beer. So far the empitome of my hop head experience.

O - Amazing beer! Dry hopped beer are always worth a shot for someone that can appreciate hops. If you are looking for a great example of citrus hops then this is a beer you want to try.

Served at Petrol Station into a pint glass.

Columbus & centenial dry hopped on cask poured into a plastic pint glass.

Pours a hazy yellow amber with a small thin white head. Nose is amazing! Hops hops hops on the nose! Amazing!

Taste is very hoppy but on cask it's actually really drinkable. It does ruin your pallate but it's still very smooth. Great beer.

On Tap

Stone Brew Co.
Escondido, CA

Deep golden and amber with an inch of bubbly white head and lots of visible carbonation. Head sits down eventually but never completely leaves. Gobs of sticky lace left on the glass.

Lots of pine and grapefruit and resin in the nose. The nose has a brightness, cleanliness, and simplicity I don't find in the other "great" DIPAs. Abundantly hoppy.

What a splendid and complete hop experience. The biting bitterness stays from start to finish, but the pungent grapefruit and citrus flavors aren't missing either. A complete ode to the hop!

Medium to thick mouthfeel. Inviting and pleasant.

About as drinkable as an incredibly hopped, super-high IBU beer can be.

Had this on tap at Hopfest! Everything else double dry hopped from Stone has been superior to the standard version, so it wasn't a tough choice.

Standard energized orange appearance of Ruination. Nothing different there. Ah, but the aroma. Magnifique. Smells dry hopped with a ton of varieties, nothing stood out in terms of single hops going on here. And what's with all the different tropical fruit varieties, very enjoyable, but its like where'd that come from?

Taste, brutal palate wrecker as the name still implies, massively bitter and hoppy. Taste isn't really much different, just a little edge to the hops and the nose, makes the mouthfeel more tolerable (well its always good, I guess it moves it into the excellent category).

The only thing I could complain about this, is that the only time I see it, there's always like 30-50 other super excellent and hoppy brews around it, so you lose focus on how good this is.

Cask at Taco Mac Metropolis in Atlanta. Dry-hopped with Simcoe and Centennial.

Pours a slightly murky copper color with a half-finger, large-bubbled, light tan head. The head recedes into a patchy layer on top leaving surprisingly decent lacing.

Smells of tropical fruit, citrus, and floral hops with good amounts of mildly bready pale malt aromas backing them up. Also present are mild amounts of herbal hop aromas that intensify as the beer warms.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Slightly bready pale malt flavors kick things off and are joined almost immediately by large amounts of citrus and herbal hop flavors. Joining in shortly thereafter are good amounts of brighter citrus and tropical fruit hop flavors along with light hints of vanilla. The flavors begin drying out a bit midway through the sip and a mild bitterness intensifies through to the end, although it's still relatively mild compared to the normal version.

Mouthfeel is good. It's got a solid thickness with soft carbonation.

Drinkability is great. I finished my glass very quickly and could easily have a few more.

Overall the relative lack of bitterness really makes this an easy-drinking version of an already great beer. Well worth a shot if you see it around.

Had on tap at Brouwer's Cafe

A: Pours a clear golden color with a small white head on top. Decent retention with foamy lacing randomly forming on the glass.

S: A very intense aroma, lots of citrus fruits, mostly grapefruit and lemon zest with plenty of pine on the back end.

T: Nice and bitter, but never really too bitter for me at least. More grapefruit with a bit higher percent of pine/resin than was on the aroma. All hops on this one as there really isn't much in terms of malt on the flavor profile.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Nice and bitter with a slightly dry finish.

O: Going in I thought this beer was going to over the top bitter, but it was very nice. Amazingly the malt kept things in check enough to make it surprisingly drinkable.

Thanks to Ehammond1 for this great growler pick up for Bottleshare.
Fairly hazy orange color. Bubbly eggshell colored head. Good retention and lacing.

Fantastic nose. Big bright Citra and Centennial hops stand out. With Nice citrus notes along with sweet Pineapple.

Amazing flavor. Sweet nice citrus and floral hops. Great balance. Mild bitter back end and finish. Nice candy malt backbone.

Light-medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Very fresh and crisp.

Overall an amazing beer. Too bad they can't dry hop all Ruination this way so we could have this awesome beer with the same accessibility. Big beautiful Centennial and Citra hop nose and flavor just make this already great beer exceptional.

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy, golden with a slight orange hue. Big, slightly off-white 3 finger head. Good retention. Resulting lace is thick and sticky.

Smell - Big citrus aromas; fresh orange, backed by a biscuity malt undertone.

Taste - Orange and grapefruit hop, with a nice, sweet, bready malt presence. Cracker or biscuit. Almost more sweet than bitter, especially in the aftertaste. A hint of tropical character comes through in the end. Great balance.

Mouthfeel - Medium to full body. Smooth. Finish is semi-dry.

Overall - Better balance than the regular Ruination; the malt is more pronounced, but also does well to compliment the hop profile; certainly better than the normal version does, anyway.

Served cold on tap at The Mayor in a tulip glass.

Hazy light copper colored ale with tight sticky head and nice lacing.

Aroma is super hoppy, as I expected. Citrus and pine in equally huge amounts.

Flavor is so intense, I wonder if I'll be able to taste anything else the rest of the day. So bitter but also has tons of hop taste. Almost like when I tried eatting a hop pellet.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, nicely carbonated, and not really balanced at all.

Overall a crazy big IPA and one that really lives up to its name.
