Got this friday night in a growler fill at the brewery... very exciting. it pours a dark gold/light amber with an off white bubbly frothing head. the smell is SUPER-hoppy and nothing else. citrusy and piney, hops everywhere.
as if regular ruination weren't enough, the taste is excruciatingly bitter. huge hop presence everywhere. there are hints of citrus fruit sweetness up front, but that is demolished by the overwhelming oily bitter hoppiness that is double dry hopped ruination. in fact, this beer redefines what it means to be "dry-hopped". Huge lingering bitter hop after-taste.
the mouthfeel is simply fantastic. full bodied and a thick film of oily hoppiness on the palate. drinkability is up there with regular ruination, though a little less because of the sheer intensity of the hops.
a great, great beer.
