Now this is a big black IPA done right. Assaults the glass with a viscous darkness and a puffy bagel colored head. The head is monster and unrelenting at a solid 2" of foam. It smells of a promising future in surfing (sea water) and landscaping (big grassy scent). I'm guessing that they do late hop additions and whirlpool this super beer.
Taste is bitter up front with plenty of indian river citrus rind, key lime and malt follows. Great big wonderful taste of fresh hops without being completely nuclear bitter. Just enough alcohol and rich smoked and toffee malt added to a base of amber malt to make it refreshingly good.
It's rich, chewy, smooth and a good friend while watching the NFC championship! Go Giants!
