Head is a light, sandy color. The body is that of a rich cola. The head takes its time in calming down, and looks rather rich and lathery. Good retention with good lacing.
The smell is complex and inviting. Malt with earthy hops and caramel start it off. This transitions into a more tropical hop aroma with pine undertones. Further sniffs reveal a little chocolate in the beginning as well.
The taste up front has a deep malt character. Aspects of dark fruit, toffee and chocolate all play around before surrendering to pine and a deeply grapefruity citrus flavor.
The mouthfeel is medium-heavy bodied. It is almost creamy. Very good.
