Pours dark black with not as much head as I normally get out of Stone. I was expecting something almost spilling over the sides. A small amount of lacing.
The nose is deceiving in a way. At first you get the standard toasty stout smell but the hops that shine through make this really stand out.
Citrus chocolate dipped grapefruit
very hoppy with orange citrus and grapefruit that has a good spice going on. Toasty as well but its all about the hops in this. Stone usually dominates when it comes to hops characteristics.
Smooth texture and drinkability.

This has to be the best black IPA on the planet. Great dark appearance! The smell of roasted malts is phenomenal. Characteristically over hopped like many Stone beers but the Taste is a perfect blend of malt and hops. This could be my favorite Stone beer, and they have a lot of great ones!
