A: 2 finger rootbeer head, very dark cola color, rising carbonation not visible through the darkness. Looks like a soda minus the carbonation.
S: IPAish, floral fruity hops, slight heaviness beneath that.
T: Porterish, but also IPAish, in fact I would say it's a direct cross between the two styles, however more on the IPA/DIPA side. The porterishness of it is like. There's definitely a coffee ground quality in there, but not particularly heavy like most porters are. Has the body resembling more of a DIPA. Mild bitterness. Interesting style, I wouldn't have thought of it. It's good but I can't say I love it.
M: a hair astringent, medium-heavy body, mild but sharpish sting.
O: Interesting and good, but not my style.

This has to be the best black IPA on the planet. Great dark appearance! The smell of roasted malts is phenomenal. Characteristically over hopped like many Stone beers but the Taste is a perfect blend of malt and hops. This could be my favorite Stone beer, and they have a lot of great ones!
