22oz bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Pours a nearly jet black color with a 1/2" tan head that thins quickly.
S: Hops hit up front, with burnt coffee and charcoal as well.
T: Very hoppy, with similar burnt coffee/charcoal notes as the nose. Lengthy finish.
M: Smooth yet with a hop bite.
O: I have yet to drink a beer from Stone I don't enjoy, and this is another home run. A hop-head's dream and complex yet easy to drink.

A: beautiful jet black color.. 2 fingers of khaki head. Looks amazing.
S: resinous hops!! Grapefruit as well.. a little bit of burnt malts with a nice sweetness deep in there..
T: smoothness upfront.. then the hops come in. Big resin hops again. Back of the palate gets hits with a charcoal like taste and some subtle sweetness.some small booze az well. leaves a lingering char, resinous, & slightly boozed finish.
Mf: smooth full bodied brew. Minimal alcohol heat.
O: very nicely done.. hop heads won't be disapointed

A: stout? Nope - but pitch black, head thins - the appearance creates an expectation
S: smells crisper than it looks; you can detect the hops, some char, and only a subtle sweetness
T: sharp, crisp, hops - more clarity than sweetness - tastes different than it looks
M: it is light, almost (gasp!) refreshing, with more carbonation than it's appearance might lead you to believe
O: a great beer. I enjoy strong sweet stouts and sharp crisp Belgian-esque pales, and this beer hovers tentatively between the two styles.
