Pours very dark with only the slightest ruby highlights. Head is thick and creamy, leaving tons of sticky lacing as it dissipates.

Aroma is sweet malt base and rich in light citrus fruit notes.

Taste is initially sweet and malty. Dark fruit appears momentarily. Then leafy tobacco hop takes over. Finishes with a mild woody, earthy aspect, and lingering green hop dark grain bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium-full.

A very flavorful and interesting black ale. Hops have a strong presence, but do not completely dominate the dark malt grain. Very nice.
