A - Hazy golden color with a rocky white head & copious lacing.
S - Earthy aroma of citrus and grass. Actually somewhat mild compared to many DIPAs.
T - A slight touch of sweetness up front, but the piney, grapefruit bitterness takes over and doesn't let go. Not much in the way of balance here, but what do you expect with a name like Ruination?
M - Full, thick body that clings to the tongue. Carbonation is mild to medium.
D - If face-numbing bitterness is your thing, I guess you could drink it all night long. For me, I enjoyed a bomber, but that was plenty. This beer is something of a legend & it's worth a try for that if nothing else. But I'd had other DIPAs that I liked a lot more.
