Pours a (very) hazy nectarine, with a small head, but consistent lacing throughout. Quality. Smell is incredible: clear hops - citrus, pine resin, and speariment gum? But also detect a thick molasses underneath - caramel and sticky sweet. The taste is intense. At first, I am underwhelmed. I've heard a lot about this one, and expected a punch to the teeth. This one hits late. The aftertaste is nearly as intense as the initial sip - leaving the back of tongue tingling with hop-bitterness. Lemony, minty (wassup with that?), pine resin, with just a hint of a sweet malt foundation beneath - a vain attempt to make its presence known (yet somehow manages to provide some structure for this hop-bomb). The aftertaste is like sucking on a grapefruit. Feels like my eyes are ready to water.
This one is fun to drink.
Fairly drinkable, for the style, though a bit intense on the bitterness side - even for a hophead like me. Perfect carbonation. A +
