This will forever be remembered as the beer I was drinking when the winning USA goal went in against Ghana, so forgive me if I was a bit distracted from how it tasted. Slightly hoppy, but not too much. Some floral notes as well. Some IPAs will beat you over the head, but not this one. Another great Stone offering.

08/22/12 On tap. Part of flight of Stone's stuff, this is the lighter entry at a mere 6.9%. Much lighter mouth feel than the others. I swear as it passed under my nose I caught a hint of Bologna/Bratwurst...I know...I know, but that's what I got.

Research leans toward Belgian yeast & saisson styling and who am I to argue?

a. A bit lighter than I expected, a yellow color. Can see through. On the first pour there was a 1 finger head, but agitating the yeast and giving it a second pour out of a bomber yields a 2 finger head. Thin lacing.

s. Citrus and hops.

t. Here is where the yeast agitation really shows through. The first glass I had was very good at best. If I had to do it all over again, I would have filled the glass half way, swirled the remaining beer in the bottle, and poured the rest of the glass. Agitate the yeast with each pour. I would call this a mix between a white and an IPA, with the IPA coming to the party late.

m. So smooth - so Stone.

o. Outstanding once the Yeast comes to the party. More white than IPA, but a great combo!

A - Nice appearance. A beautiful dark amber color. Very clear.

S - Hoppy. A little too hoppy for me. It comes down to personal preference, but I was slightly off put by how strong it was.

T - As with the smell, the hops taste was strong. At first it sucks you in, you're thinking it's not too prevalent, but then it kicks it up. If you're a strong IPA drinker, it's for you.

M - Comes out bitter in the end. Too bitter. Again, it's not my cup of tea.

O - It comes down to personal preference. Not a beer I'd try again, but I can see it's charms with other drinkers.
