Poured into a Dogfish signature snifter. No freshness date.

A- Pours a medium amber color with a 3/4 inch white head that has great retention before becoming an 1/8 inch head leaving a fluffy crown of lacing on the edge of the glass behind it.

S- Tropical fruit pours out of the bouquet while melding with the Belgian yeast to create a wonderful aroma.

T- Heavy notes of pineapple, papaya and guava with a sharp yeast bite to funk things up a bit. Hops play their part as well making things just bitter enough. Juicy and vaporous.

M- Tight and prickly with a lightish body and medium carbonation.

O- One of my favorite Belgian IPAs. Unique and perfectly balanced.

It's an interesting tasting. Initially I thought I would really dig this but as I got into it, it wasn't as impressive as expected. The appearance is a beautiful golden; the smell is a sweet malty, yeasty mix. The taste is hoppy with a fruitty malty mix. Didn't quite get the wit taste that I've heard about but the IPA definitely stood out. At the middle and end of tasting it was kinda strange. I could drink this again but will not go out of the way for it.

Recommended by a friend. Approached with caution because this style sounded terrible. Poured a yellowish color, spices, yeat & banana on the noise. The first sip was wild. Had the yeasty Belgian bits along with the hoppy fruitiness of an IPA. But the way the banana flavor faded into the hops was rather gross. I don't see the appeal at all. How this is a growing style is beyond me, but even trying to appreciate this for what it is was difficult.

Since then, I've tried a couple others which tasted better and more balanced. Still not big on it, but make this one look even worse in hindsight.

A: Pours a cloudy golden color with a thick bright white head that dissipates at a moderate pace and leaves a thin film behind.

S: A pungent aroma of citrus, bready yeast, and alcohol. Not a pleasant overall smell.

T: Tastes like a Belgian that has fermented outside in a Texas summer. It is just a terrible mix of flavors punched by an overpowering bitterness.

M: Medium body with medium to high carbonation.

O: I do not hate many beers. I HATED this beer! Half was miserably drank with the rest dumped. Based on some of the other positive reviews, I wonder if I had a bad bottle. I am not willing to risk it on this one to try again. I love Stone IPAs and figured this was a guaranteed hit. I guess I was wrong.
