From a 750 ml bottle, this beer is crystal clear and pale-golden in color. The head is brilliantly white, and moderately stable. An interestingly fruity aroma is very pleasant and inviting...apple, grape (grape-skins), and a spicy hop background. Some malt, yeast, and some sugary sweet-smelling notes. The taste is very balanced...sweetness up front, and a delicate, very well-proportioned bitter hop tone. Smoother in body than expected. Long, lingering, spicy hop finish.

Pours a hazed golden yellow, pure white head with dashes of lace here and there.

Smells really interesting, hops, marzipan, and fig newtons come to mind, sort of a sour-sweet smell.

Tastes like plums, with a solid licorice bitterness as a backdrop. On the lighter side of the flavor spectrum, but still quite tasty.

Nice light carbonation from the Belgian yeast, but has an almost oily, rotten fruit finish.

Overall it's worthy of the Stone name.

Poured from a 22-oz. bomber into a smaller class at the Courtyard Marriott in Culver City, Calif. Less than a finger of head. Color was honey pale. Light layer of gray lacing that wanted to stay, but was slowly evaporating. Light layer of soapy film on the sides.

Fruit dominated the initial smell. Got apple first with some pear, grapes and kiwi knocking on the door. Some rotten fruit as well.

Tasted pretty close to the smell, albeit a bit skunkier. Got some bitterness in there as well. Apple leading the way still. Some light pear as well.

Light body. Creamy texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Bitter finish.

An OK beer, but nothing special. I will say that it had the “Stone” feel to it, but I just wasn’t into it from the start.

A: Pale, golden, frothy head. Medium amount of lacing. Nice.

S: Apricots, oranges, white grapes. Tropical fruits are big here, too.

T: Tropical fruit with a juicy grapefruit/pine bitterness. Could almost be mistaken for a tripel. Spicy Belgian yeast dont really balance out the hops, more like another wallop of flavors.

M: Maybe a tad too astringent at the end, a bit of noticeable heat too.

O: I really like this beer, the malt gets somewhat lost in the background, but is a good distraction from all the IPAs out there.

From a bomber into a room-temp pint glass.

A-A dark golden-yellow color, clean and carbonated. A fluffy white 2+ finger head that settles a bit but holds on and leaves mega-lacing.

S- The sharp yeast aroma is right up front, like fresh dough. Not much IPA aroma to me. It smells kind of wood-earth like as well.

T-Merely a hint of IPA to me, very mild citrus notes to start. The Begian Ale kicks in for a strong finish. A yeasty duet of flavors.

M- very full body and lively carbonation. This beer is thick, not smooth or harsh, not bitter: Strong.

O- An ambitious effort, quite a duet. But, for me, the Belgian yeast becomes too much. It rolls over the IPA. A pint of this once or twice a year would be enough for me.

Interesting aroma, it's a nice funk coming off of a hoppy backbone of lime and orange. Smells quite nice.

It's a partly hazy medium-straw-yellow color with a nice fluffy white persistent head and beautiful lacing left behind.

Nice flavors of biscuits and fresh fruit with orange zest as garnish. Thats actually exactly what it tastes like to me. Constant bitterness lets you know it's an IPA, but the overly fruity presence reminds you that it's a belgian beer too.

Medium body with a nice burst of high carbonation. Nice beer on a warm day, I really like this.

Crystal clear bright Orange/gold color. Gold fluffy bright white head. Great lacing. Classic California hop nose win some yeasty undertones.

Oh wow. Really really god Damned good. Body is a little thinner then expected but still decently size. Tart fruitiness, soft yeast flavors, soft hop flavors. The most subtle and elegant ipa I've ever had. The Belgian yeast flavors along with he California hop flavors blend so well together. Incredibly smooth and balanced. This beer is straight up amazing. Well blended flavors, so concentrated. I love it

at 4.99 a bottle, its the best deal around.
