Bottle to Stone pint glass
I'm reviewing this with an open mind. Bottle says to drink in 2009 and don't age it. It's almost 2011 and I just got a bottle of this from a little liquor store who I doubt knew to sell these fresh.
App-This beer poured a dense, thick, rich chocolate brown color. It had a nice tan creamy one finger head.
Smell- It was a complex mess to say of smells on this. You get dried fruit, you get the alcohol, you get some caramel and maybe some other roast in there.
Taste- This is where I think a fresh bottle would come in handy. I don't know how to compare it to a fresh bottle but its like drinking a baby RIS. I saw that because you get so many flavors but the big flavors stand out with the coffee and chocolate of the RIS coming to mind.
Mouth- It's a complex beer and demands to be sipped and enjoyed while flavors go to work on the palate.
Drink- One and done for me. It was like sipping on a fine wine to be enjoyed and remembered.
