Poured this beer from a bomber into a 17.5 oz snifter.
The pour was nice. This beer is much darker than I expected. The head is slight and looks like espresso foam. The color is dark and turns red when held up to the lights.
The smell is malty with hops in the background. It almost smells like dried fruit and molasses.
The taste is big malt upfront and has a hoppy finish. Molasses comes out again. Once the beer warms up there is a strong alcohol bite.
Te mouthfeel is solid. It is thick but not syrupy.
Although this is not a syrupy brew, I dont see myself sessioning this beer. I would buy it again if I had the chance though.
