Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Russian River glass on 8/24/11.
Pours a hazy hey color with 2 fingers of huge frothy white head that dissipates leaving little lacing on the glass. I would liked to have a little more darker honey tints to the beer and some more head retention but its still a fine looking beer.
Smells of bready malts with a hint of citrus and tons of spices including sage, and rosemary. Great smelling beer for a summer brew. The herbs were a little over the top and I think should have taken a little more of a back seat to the way it came out, with more of the bready and citrus notes up front.
Taste is refreshing but again the herbal flavors really overtook the citrus and bready malt flavors that I like in saisons. I would score it higher if it had been more balanced.
Mouthfeel is litwe with a nice tingle that dances across your tongue.
Overall this is a decent beer and one of those beer that is better then its individual parts.

A: Pours a cloudy gold with a mountainous, thick white head.
S: Aromas of funky, spicy yeast, minerals, crackers, biscuits, grass, straw, hay, lemon, thyme, sage, rosemary, and parsley fill the nose.
T: Strong notes of thyme, sage, rosemary, and parsley are present up front, chased by flavors of lemon, grass, straw, hay, lime zest, white pepper, biscuit, crackers, minerals, honey, bitter orange, and oaky, lactic funk. The finish is slick, spicy, and somewhat bitter with herb and citrus flavors underscored by pepper, biscuit, and yeast funk.
M: Surprisingly slight and airy in body, but it does thicken a bit once it settles in the mouth. Initially, this ale is somewhat dry, but quickly turns slick. Carbonation is incredibly active and intense. Alcohol is well masked, but overall it feels unfocused. Difficult to drink.
O: An interesting saison, but it could have been better. The flavors do not separate enough, and in terms of texture, this beer falls apart in the mouth. For me, it was somewhat difficult to drink. I'm glad I tried it, but it is still a missed opportunity.
