On tap at Melt Bar & Grilled. Poured into a pint glass.
A - Glass arrives to me filled with a beer the color of a orange root beer. Perhaps even carmel looking with a one finger tan head, that dissapates quickly and turns into a nice cap and leaves lots of lacing.
S - The beer smells of loads of hops, which Stone does very well. Loads of citrus tones, grapefruit, green apple, lemon, orange, pineapple even. Theres also lots of malt in the nose, loads of roasted and carmel malts. Sweet backbone. Perhaps some oak as well.
T - Taste has a huge burst of orange hops which is almost over whelming but lots of sweet and smooth malts come in and round out the beer. A very smooth beer overall, I was very suprised. No lingering booze at all. A really stellar beer.
M - Lots of carbonation keep this beer balanced and holds up to the big amounts of hops.
D - A great beer that I wish I could have more of in my own collection. The Melt keg has already blown and my one 22 is all that I have left. Go pick this up if you see it on the shelf. You won't be dissapointed.

Appearance - The beer was a dark copper color with a fluffy off-white head crowning the snifter. Lacing followed the sides of the glass.
Smell - The malts dominated the smell with notes of fresh bread and banana hovering in the background.
Taste - On the initiate taste, the bitterness of chocolate and alcohol strikes me. Caramel makes a brief appearance. Oaky notes and vanilla float in toward the back, leaving a dry woody impression.
Mouthfeel -Carbonation is modest with few warming qualities despite the ABV. Clearly the alcohol is well masked.
Overall - I aged this one for quite a while and must state that I am not sure the waiting was worth it.
