Bottled 10-24-14. Pours a clear dark Amber, with one finger of bubbly tan head that quickly faded to a thin film. Aroma is piney, with some caramel and sweet toffee notes. Taste is resiny and fruity up front, with the sweetness and woody flavors following on the back end. Mouthfeel is thin to medium, but it coats the tongue nicely, making you continually want more. Overall, this one is quite nice, with a lot going on, quite a nice melange of flavors, blending into a great brew.

22oz bomber into tulip

Appearance - Murky, cloudy amber/brown. 1.5 finger tan head recedes slowly into a foamy cap, excellent lacing.

Smell - Sweet honeyed malts and the fruity hops mingle very nicely to produce some aromas that invoke gingerbread cookies and spicy fruitcake. Fruity, citrusy hops ultimately dominate the aroma beautifully.

Taste - So complex! First off comes a sweet, fruity, citrusy, mildly piney hop assault, but that gives way to spicy, toasty, bready malts, THEN in comes a touch of smooth, smoky, earthy oak and a touch of vanilla complexity with a whiff of booze. Finishes off-dry and decidedly hoppy with a moderately bitter pine resin bite barely winning out over toasty, biscuity malts.

Feel - Really smooth and creamy medium-full body. Carb is gentle but ample enough to carry the big flavor around and do some scrubbing.

Overall - What a badass beer; Stone killed this one. The flavor is deep, complex, and comes in waves. The massive hopping really cuts through the mix, yet blends and complements the other flavors instead of clashing. A masterfully crafted brew, and one of the better brews I've had in quite a while.
