Nose hit me the hops first. Piney and citrusy. Followed by the rich malt presence and some oak.

The taste is bitter and deep caramel malt upfront. Def citrus and grapefruit hoppiness in there. It's hard to discern the hop profile because it's masked behind a richer darker malt base than I'm used to for this amount of hops. American Strong Ale, or American Brown IPA. Blurring genres once again is Stone.

I'm also getting vanilla Dr. Pepper in the taste, but obviously a bitter version. Seriously, It's kinda like adult Dr. Pepper for me right now and that's awesome. And the times when Dr. Pepper tastes more fruity and less just viscous sweet, you know?

Anyway, It's an awesome beer. So far my favorite of the Stone 4pk. On to the BBA>>

I get a hint of the familiar Bastard taste, behind a flavorful rush of citrusy and piny hops

From the new bomber variety fourpack, purchased last week. The deliberately misspelled name is cute up to the point where you have to spell it "correctly." Then it's kind of a pain.

a: Clear copper with an inch and a half light tan head which receded slowly to rocky surface foam and dense lacing.

s; Ripe light fruit, mainly pear; then pine resin.

t: An unidentifiable fruity flavor followed by a substantial hop bite. Bitterness and some sourness lingers. High ABV is very well covered, although a bit of throat burn appears later.

m: Light to moderate. Pretty good body, good carbonation tingle.

o: A barleywinish mixture of other Stone brews (I understand) which is refreshing, but the sourness is a bit offputting for me. Any anticipated smokiness or oakiness is masked completely by the fruitiness, almost as though they mixed the brew with fruit cup juice. Which is odd considering it's a mix of three other Stone brews to which I have given higher marks.
