12oz bottle poured into a Stone pairing glass.

A - On the dark side of amber, a slight head that is an off white in color and dissipates quickly leaves a slight lacing.

S - There is a floral smell with a hint of hops and a pine needle smell. there is some sugar flavor to go with this beer.

T - It starts off with a sweet taste that quickly becomes pine like maybe a hint of citrus and a toasted coffee taste that does not have much of an after taste.

M - there is a medium bodied feel to this beer with average amount of carbonation that leads into the malty creamy taste that i enjoy so much.

D/O - I would drink this beer again it is a relatively hoppy beer that is not without its faults but is a quality beer that i enjoyed.

This beer pours a relatively clear red color with a thin off white head sitting on top. There is great head retention and a bit of frothy lacing.

The aroma is definitely appealing. Citrusy hops hit me up front. It's a seemingly obligatory scent for a West Coast beer. There's a touch of sappy pine as well. Unfortunately for me, I'm unable to find anything beyond the hop, so any subtlety in the aroma is lost on me.

The taste is fine. Again, citrusy hops are a dominant theme that is accompanied by a mild to moderate bitterness. There is a somewhat herbal tea quality here as well, which gives an earthy vibe. Again, I'm not finding much in the malt profile which can be a bit of a bummer.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied but seemingly watery. There is a decent level of carbonation which provides a gentle tingle.

Overall it's an ok beer. I've never been huge on the style, but the citrusy hops make it more interesting for me. It's certainly sessionable with the low ABV, and the IBU's are certainly easily managed in this beer. Anyway, it leaves me wanting a little bit more.
