A : aggressive pour yields a big light tan head. The beer is amber in color with a nice reddish tint. The bottle is nicely laden in gold lettering, looking very Euro.
S : fruity caramel and a bit of candi sugar. very sweet with very little hop presence. a bit of sweet caramel mixed with some toffee, ala American made scotch ales
T : The first taste is very sweet, with a hint of smokiness. The end has a slight fruity flavor, like sugared figs. There is a hoppiness to it that goes throughout the beer and blends with the slight smoke well. The caramel is towards the back end of the beer. It is buttery smooth and has a really great end to it halfway through the glass.
M : low carb is great for the style. Buttery and easy going mouthfeel is nice.
Overall a little over done with the hop for a scotch ale, but still a tasty beer. The flavor profile is pretty wide, as the beer is from start to finish and through the glass seems to get longer. That is always a great trait. Glad I got to try it but there are other scotch ales I'd much rather have.
