A: Pours a lovely clear maroon with about two fingers of beige head that quickly recedes into a thin cap with little lacing.
S: Sweet caramel and crystal malts up front followed by sweet, dark fruits like plums and grapes. There's also an aroma that reminds me of rock candy or other hard candies. Very light hop and yeast aroma on the finish.
T: Similar to the aroma, there are a lot of sweet fruits and candies going on in the taste. However, it is not cloying at all. The finish has a slight alcohol burn along with some yeasty bread flavors and light bitterness from the hops.
M: Medium-heavy body with light carbonation. The sweetness doesn't linger around thankfully. Slightly watery, though.
D: With the sweetness being held in check and the alcohol well hidden, this is a pretty drinkable beer. Goes down smoothly.
