Purchased from So Cal and held for over a year until another brewery scheduled a Japan benefit.
A- Nice bright apricot color but extremely muddled with "bottle condition". Virtually no head but not suprising at 9+ %.
S- Lots of pear and traditional green tea aroma. A sweetness of sugar and bold aromatic hops.
T- More hops up front that the green tea, but it sneaks up on you along with the alcohol. Warm aftermath that lingers and creates a new aromatic hop flavor.
M- more carbonated that originally appeared. Nicely thick and surprising for an IPA. More in-line with a much darker and substantial style.
D- The aftertaste is not fully appealing for an IPA and is not my favorite. Support your local brewery and any opportunities to give back to charity. I'll probably give these away or use them to enjoy the company of others.
