Rich, deep chestnut-brown with a thin lace of off-white bubbles. Aroma of roasted malts and spices. Taste is subtle and complex; I get a bit of the pumpkin and yams, with a lot of spice and toasty notes. Finish is pretty crisp and clean, with a bit of lingering roasted flavors.
This isn't really at all what I expected, but I like it. This is certainly a unique beer. I find myself wishing I could taste the lemon verbena a bit more, or be able to identify the fenugreek.
Nonetheless, an incredibly interesting brew. Well done.
