Pours a deep amber, clear, with a fairly solid one inch tan head that leaves lace as it dissipates.
Pumpkin and caramel malt lead the aroma, with a toasted fenugreek scent comprising the finish. There's a slight citrus scent that is likely more verbena than hop.
Flavor is definitely different. Sweet caramel malt makes up the backbone, with undertones of pumpkin initially present and giving way to toasty fenugreek that lingers into the aftertaste. A hint if lemon cleans up the finish, along with slight bitterness.
Body is moderate with somewhat high carbonation.
An interesting beer. The fenugreek really takes over the flavor, and the pumpkin and caramel malt is a bit cloying. Worth a try for the odd combination factor. Most interesting pumpkin ale I've had.
