The body is a deep, clear, cranberry-red with lots of tiny rising bubbles. A thick, dense head rises up and settles very slowly leaving lots of lacing.
Upon first sniffing, I'm reminded of Thanksgiving dinner, with a noticeable yam aroma, alongside lots of spice and a pleasant roasty malt presence.
Flavors are nice, but not quite as interesting as the aroma would have you believe. Bitterness is moderate and a lemony astringency is evident.
Carbonation is fine, and provides a bubbly cleaning of the palate.
Overall, a little disappointing, though it is worth a try if you're looking for something to pair with an autumn meal.
