Poured in to a tulip. Seemed a bit on the dark side of most pumpkin ales, but it was a dark brown/ruby colored body. Dense, tan head with good lacing.
Aroma was interesting but inviting. Lemon and fennegreek really came forward. Some burnt sugar sweetness with a light malty sweetness. Some hints of raisin as well. Some caramel as well.
Flavor didn't have much in the way of pumpkin, but it was really tasty. Again, fennegreek and lemon came through the strongest for me. Some light chocolate notes with a burnt sugar sweetness. Mild, lemony bitterness in the finish. A bit of maple flavor with some moderate sweetness and caramel. Very much different than your typical pumpkin spices, but really enjoyable.
Mouthfeel was medium body, medium carb and a light finish. Drinks like the 5% brew it is.
Overall its really enjoyable and flavors are great. Very different than your typical pumpkin ale.
