12 oz bottle into tulip. cant seem to find a bottled on date.
A: certainly one of the lighter browns i have seen. dark tan. hazy. head is off-white and is very fluffy. good retention and lacing as well.
S: there is a sizable hop presence on the nose. floral. lots of malts. caramel. a nuttiness that reminds me of pecans. a little bit of coffee and chocolate. theres something else there that i cant exactly put my finger on, but i dont like it.
T: there is a very minor, but detectable, mesquite smoke in there. its actually not that minor. i notice it every sip. the malt has a big presence here. more so than on the nose. a mild coffee, pecan pie.
M: almost creamy, a little different then i am used to for most browns, but i like it. a big medium body.
D: besides the unpleasantness in the nose i spoke of (wish i could find some more descriptors), this is a pretty good brown. really digging the creamy mouthfeel and the smoky notes. at $4/bottle, not really worth it.
