Tasted several bottles of this over the course of the summer.
A- Slightly darker copper color than other Stone IPA's frothy, white persistent head.
S- A dank pine forest. Deep & powerful hop aromatics.
T- Initial impressions show a boatload of hops. As the beer warms, some hints of caramel & white pepper emerge. Bitterness envelops the finish with some citrus notes.
M- Full & mouth coating. Like drinking a Barleywine. Some boozy sharpness, but it works with the big flavors here.
O- A change of pace for Stone. More malty character than many of their IPA's, but an exceptional effort. Looking forward to seeing this each year.
