A: Pours orange into the glass with a beige head that contains some great lacing as I swirl around the glass.
S: Smells of oranges, peaches, mango, pineapple, and sweet caramel.
T: Orange, peach, mango, pineapple, tangerine with bitter grapefruit on the finish. Caramel malt is in there to help with a bit of a malt presence, but it's definitely in the background. Overall, a sweeter tasting IIPA because of the tropical and fruity nature of the hop flavors. A lingering bitterness though to let you know it IS a IIPA. Great tropical fruit presence in this beer that I remember from Stone Ruination 10th Anniversary. Its like drinking juice; that's how I like my IPA's.
M: A full-bodied beer that goes down smooth with a signature IIPA bite on the finish. Carbonation isn't too light or too strong.
O: I haven't had PtY or Heady Topper, but this (and last year's incarnation) is probably my favorite IIPA that I've had. Great job with this one Stone, it's a WINNER for sure.
