Pours a hazy burnt orange color with a tight white head that leaves bits of lacing.
Smells of big pine and citrus hops.
Tastes of big hops upfront with a solid malt backbone. Hops lead off with notes of grapefruit, pine resin, and some tropical fruits. Fairly bitter, but the malts are sweet enough to balance it. Malts come on the end with some caramel and toffee along with toasted bread. Finishes a bit hot, but not unpleasantly so.
Mouthfeel is full with a smooth amount of carbonation.
Overall, this does fit with the ruination idea, but it is a little more balanced than the original.
