Notes/Commercial Description:
We first released this decidedly indelicate beer in 2012, as Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our belovedly bitter Stone Ruination IPA. Stone RuinTen IPA uses the same recklessly hoppy recipe as the 2012 release; only the name has changed, as we plan to unleash this belligerently delicious hop monster upon the public annually from now on. We packed a whopping five pounds of hops into each barrel, and cranked up the ABV to stand up to the hop onslaught. The results are glorious, and we know you'll rejoice in tasting this audacious gem of hoppy splendor once again. You're welcome.

Immediately hit with fruity notes on the aroma and flavor and an excellent hoppy middle and smooth finish. I've had this twice on separate occasions and noted a huge difference in flavor between the two. The first blew my mind, and the second disappointed greatly. If the second experience was like the first, it would be 5's across the board.

Pours a deep gold with an off-white two-finger head. Nice lacing. Aroma of dank and fruity hops. Lemon and tropical fruit with some spice notes. Tropical fruit hop notes hit the palate first followed by a solid malt backbone. Finishes bitter.
Full-bodied and dry, with adequate carbonation. Very bitter! Overall, an outstanding Imperial IPA by Stone!

A - Orange pour with a cascading beige foam. Lacing is impressive and there is a thickness in the look that belies this is a big DIPA.

S - Scents of tropical fruits like mango and pineapple, along with citrus fruit notes. Has a pungent hoppy smell that has similar traits of tobacco leaf and bitter herbs.

T - Big blast of hop resin that gives a great contrast between citrus notes, earthy spices, and bitter greens. Very bold and rich, Ruinten is what we all have come to love from the West Coast Imperial IPA. Finish leaves a strong resin taste in your mouth like a good cigar.

M - While this is a big IPA that is strong and leaves a gritty feel, I think it could have been balanced a little better. Might be hard given the IBU's, but even having this with some spicy homemade salsa and chips I felt one glass was enough.

O - No way this disappoints hopheads and is another solid beer from Stone. True to the style and worth having, though certainly fresher is better.
