Notes/Commercial Description:
We first released this decidedly indelicate beer in 2012, as Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our belovedly bitter Stone Ruination IPA. Stone RuinTen IPA uses the same recklessly hoppy recipe as the 2012 release; only the name has changed, as we plan to unleash this belligerently delicious hop monster upon the public annually from now on. We packed a whopping five pounds of hops into each barrel, and cranked up the ABV to stand up to the hop onslaught. The results are glorious, and we know you'll rejoice in tasting this audacious gem of hoppy splendor once again. You're welcome.

22oz brown bottle in to a snifter. The beer is a hazed orange/copper color with a white head that settled to a ring leaving some trails of lacing. The aroma is tropical fruits and makes me want to drink it. The taste is pure tropical fruit from start to finish with just enough malt to keep my tongue from going numb. It is medium bodied with mild carbonation and represents the style quite well.

22 oz bomber, best by 8/28.

A: Glowing orange, with a finger of head that settles into a nice froth and leaves a ton of lacing. Gold in a glass.

S: Extremely potent. Mango, grapefruit, even a little pineapple and guava. Tropical fruit salad. Can smell it from miles away.

T: Begins gently tropical, then a huge wave of pine-dominated bitterness. Drinks smoother after 20 minutes, but still a bitter bomb, in a deeply satisfying way.

M: Very full, very soft. Texture works beautifully with tropical flavors.

O: Still not as blown away by this as I was last year's original batch, but as is clear from my numbers, this is still great.

Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass, best by 9/12/13. Pours a bright yellow orange, with a beautiful one head, amazing retention and coats the glass with lace. Smell is huge pine, mango, tangerine, apricot, and grapefruit. Taste is all of that and punches you in the face with grapefruit in finish and lingers on the tongue. Body is large, plenty of life, a bit dry like its son, and very approachable for its heft. This isn't for everyone, but I love this beer! All self proclaimed hop head must try.

22oz bottle, best by 9/5/13 poured into a tulip
A: Burnt orange with a two-finger head that quickly settles
S: Grapefruit with a big malt backbone & some tropical fruit
T: Tons of hops but not over the top or viscous like is all too common, then again this is Stone so they can definitely do it well. Some grapefruit, orange rind & tropical fruits fill in the edges. Very tasty
M: The alcohol is well hidden by all the hops. Fairly big mouthfeel, crisp
O: I enjoy Stone's full lineup & this is a great addition to the mix

22 Oz bomber --> Pilsner glass. This beer is one of my favorites along with Ruination so I had to review it on here.

A - Beer is crystal clear orange/amber color w/ 3 fingers of white head that sticks around forever, the lacing is very distinct white circles around the glass with the occasional thin branching artery from circle to circle. Beautiful.

S - Wow. Grapefruit, orange/lemon/lime zest, pineapple, a little bit of garlic but in a good way. Piney hops all around.

T - Super piney hops with slight hints of garlic. Huge grapefruit, citrus zest, pineapple, lots of bitterness. It's a step up from Stone Ruination, which I didn't know was possible.

M - Light-medium mouthfeel. Bitter aftertaste. Alcohol well hidden. Nice bite from the hops though.

O - One hell of an amazing beer. Now I'm going to have to buy a 4 pack of Ruination to make sure I compare to this tomorrow. I like the bottle too, the saying "a stage dive into a mosh pit of hops" isn't kidding. Really need to break out some old Coheed or Bad Religion to go with this beer.

Best drank while listening too:
1. Coheed and Cambria: Time Consumer
2. Bad Religion: Los Angeles is Burning
3. NoFX: 72 Hookers
