Notes/Commercial Description:
We first released this decidedly indelicate beer in 2012, as Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our belovedly bitter Stone Ruination IPA. Stone RuinTen IPA uses the same recklessly hoppy recipe as the 2012 release; only the name has changed, as we plan to unleash this belligerently delicious hop monster upon the public annually from now on. We packed a whopping five pounds of hops into each barrel, and cranked up the ABV to stand up to the hop onslaught. The results are glorious, and we know you'll rejoice in tasting this audacious gem of hoppy splendor once again. You're welcome.

This id an across the board fantastic DIPA and has everything you would look for and expect from a good example of the style. Pours a rich, bright amber, very clear with a thin white head that slowly dissipated. Smell is huge with fresh lively hops, heavy malts, lemon, Carmel. Taste follows suit. Mildly sweet, honey and floral. Feel id moderate, a touch sticky from the sweetness, mild carbonation. Overall great IPA, and my second favorite stone offering to date, second only to Enjoy By.

Appearance: amber-honey body with a one finger bone white head that leaves sheets of lacing

Aroma: grapefruit peel with a malty backbone

Flavors: touch of caramel malts, soda cracker and grains and then wham!!! It is like I am chewing on a white grapefruit rind; the grapefruit taste and piney bite are powerful and the alcohol warmth just adds to this IPA bomb.

Mouthfeel: medium-full body; low carbonation; big time bitterness; alcohol warmth; the grapefruit note lingers on the palate until you are tired of tasting grapefruit; this is the mouthfeel I expect out of a DIPA and one that is called Ruin Ten

To the Point: yes, this will ruin your palate; I never thought Ruination ‘ruined’ my palate but, Ruin Ten – yes.

First time having the Ruin Ten and overall came away very impressed
Pours dark gold almost amber with very little head/lacing
Aroma fairly intense with caramel and tropical notes of grapefruit/pineapple
Taste hits with early malt sweetness and tropical notes in the backend. sticky sweet beginning with bitter end and not overly dry

Pours a honey-golden color with thick slightly off-white head that lingers well in a pint glass. Lots of sticky lacing.

Pungent citrus and caramel smell.

Early malt sweetness that is quickly swamped by a heavy grapefruit rind citrus taste. Heavy bitterness that lingers on the posterior palate.

Mouthfeel is medium with average carbonation.

Overall this is a nice hop bomb. Really bitter but very good. Definitely worth a try.

Reviewing from the 2013 release.

Pours out a gorgeous amber hue with soft white lacing.

Smells of sweet baby back hops. Big, strong, and hoppy.

Taste offers tons of hops, sweetness, and bitterness right in your face. If you're a hop head, like me, this really hits the god damn spot and the 10.8% is hidden nicely. Just fantastic. Huge hops up front that flow to a smooth and bitter finish. Plenty or pine, resin, and some sweet citrus. Really enjoyable.
