Notes/Commercial Description:
We first released this decidedly indelicate beer in 2012, as Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our belovedly bitter Stone Ruination IPA. Stone RuinTen IPA uses the same recklessly hoppy recipe as the 2012 release; only the name has changed, as we plan to unleash this belligerently delicious hop monster upon the public annually from now on. We packed a whopping five pounds of hops into each barrel, and cranked up the ABV to stand up to the hop onslaught. The results are glorious, and we know you'll rejoice in tasting this audacious gem of hoppy splendor once again. You're welcome.

Stone RuinTen IPA, 2013 Annual Release, 10.8% ABV, 110 IBU's. A - Brilliantly clear light golden with orange tinge, just enough bright white head. S - Incredible, Hops hops and more hops, lemon-orange oils, alcohol presence. T - Hop bitterness and alcohol burn dominate, malt doesn't seem to be able to catch up, very dry, some hidden citrus notes. O - Palate destroyer, abundance of hops is quite enjoyable, although light malt profile is no match for the high alcohol content, better as it warms.

A-hazy copper, thick off-white 1 inch head, good retention, heavy lacing

S-Faint notes of hops, pine, citrus- while the aroma is nice it isn't very strong

T-Nice balance between the sweetness of the malts and hops grapefruit / lemons a bit bready

M-thick, chewy, oily resins, mild carbonation

I fell in love with the concept of this beer after hearing about it, it's great let's reinvent Ruination and make it hoppier to meet the standards of today's palate. Pours a beautiful copper orange hue with big thickets of off white head, forms thick with lovely bubbles flowing forth. Aroma has big citric rind, dank resinous hops, floral and earth notes colliding this is a hop explosion of a beer I bought a case and shared half. Flavor juicy hops hit the palate with big malts colliding with the beer what a great experience hop resin in a bottle it's slick and oily through each sip, you almost have to love this if you're a true hop head. Everything about it screams Stone from the hop burps, to the intense mix of flavors that provide a beer experience I haven't had yet to the cohesive drinkability that I can't believe this beer is this easy to consume. I don't blink an eye it goes down smooth with every sip but at the same time there is raw intense hop flavors that most brewers haven't touched upon yet flowing across the palate it's extreme on more than one front excellent effort from a veteran in the craft brewing scene.
