American Double / Imperial IPA |  10.80% ABV

Availability: Summer

Notes/Commercial Description:
We first released this decidedly indelicate beer in 2012, as Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our belovedly bitter Stone Ruination IPA. Stone RuinTen IPA uses the same recklessly hoppy recipe as the 2012 release; only the name has changed, as we plan to unleash this belligerently delicious hop monster upon the public annually from now on. We packed a whopping five pounds of hops into each barrel, and cranked up the ABV to stand up to the hop onslaught. The results are glorious, and we know you'll rejoice in tasting this audacious gem of hoppy splendor once again. You're welcome.

22 oz. bomber poured (partially) into a pint glass.

A-pours a beautiful clear, orange color with a finger or more of head which dissipates slowly to a thin layer of fine bubbles.

S-great aroma of tropical fruits (pineapple, mango, etc.) Some pine as well.

T-spicy, tropical flavors with some nice malty, carmel flavors to round it out.

M-Nice level of carbonation and hop bitterness to cut the sweet. This drinks pretty well for such a large beer. Full-bodied for sure but in no way syrupy like some of the other 10% beers get. Very enjoyable.

O-Fantastic offering from stone. I love beers with this hop profile and that are this size without feeling like a port wine in weight.

A - Hazy amber body with dense off-white head. Nice retention and lacing.

S - So much fresh citrus.

T - Like a ruination , dry bitter citrus hops but more sugary and malty. Alcohol is strong but blends in really well with all the bold flavors.

M - Medium/full body with moderate fine carbonation. Very syrupy and sticky.

O - Very glad this made it out to the east coast. Greatness as always from Stone.

Clear, deep orange with a dense cream/beige cap. Sticky foam, good head retention. Hoppy aroma, lots of citrus, grapefruit rind, a bit of pine, some caramel, slightly herbal with a hint of spicy/onion character. A big IPA with plenty of sweetness to balance the bitterness and hop flavour, more caramel and citrus mostly, along with some booziness in the finish. Full bodied, med/low CO2, nice texture. Overall, quite tasty.
