16th, $7 @ Nikki's.... been hankerin' for an IPA. Let's do it.
A- Nice clarity, golden/amber, more golden than amber, 2 finger thick foamy head. Good staying power. Thick, whitewash lacing.
S- That's an odd hop profile... but I like it. Sweet, aromatic, floral and a bit peppery. Lemon rind too.
T- I read some other reviews before I tasted this and I agree the hops come across as a bit soapy. Usually, this is a turn-off for me, but I don't mind it at all. I like it, actually. Fruity, floral, a bit spicy. A bit of a hodgepodge, but mostly it works.
M- Alcohol is hot. Beer is abrasive. Buuuut, it's what I wanted in a WC DIPA.
O- Good stuff. Good hop fix. Paired great with a homemade pepperoni pizza.

08/22/12 On tap. To me most IPAs are too aggressive. This an exception. It's well balanced as to it's bitterness & the respectable hoppyness. It got a kick with a little burn. Appears to be brewed with me in mind and not the brewers bragging rights. Sue me, but I'll say it anyway...it's got great grownup characteristics.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 22 oz bottle into a tulip glass. The label lists the abv at 10 % and there is a nice discretion of the beer.
Appearance: The beer has a deep honey amber color with a slight haze. It builds a tall just off white head on top which hangs on well and clings to the glass making lots of cool lacing.
Smell: The aroma is full of loads of bright lemony citrus and well...hops. (Classic Stone IPA)
Taste / Palate: The flavor is full of hops from start to finish. First up are the citrus and tropical notes with a spicy malty bready base. This fades into herbal and pine like hop notes with slow fading bitterness in the finish.
Notes: Hang on to the hops roller coaster its going to be a bitter good ride.
