You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

Only pop in for an occasional written review these days and this beer deserves one. I picked up 5 bottles and this is my last one.

The head is white and a bit soapy/frothy. Good lace sticks to the glass. Beer is a bright gold with a touch of brass in it.

Aroma is borderline perfection. So bright and fresh it hurts. Huge juicy citrus notes with a touch of green grass. A tropical note or two as well.

Tropical blast more apparent in the flavor vs. aroma. Again a blast of fresh citrus. Lots of tangerine and oily citrus from the peel. Just fantastic. Reminds me a touch of the pineapple Lifesavers.. (positive reference) Light cracker malt just to provide some balance, but this is about the fresh hops.

Light, refreshing and fresh body. Vibrant.

Great concept, great beer. Love it.

Poured from a bomber into a pilsner glass

A: pours a clear dark gold with a generous white head that settles down quickly and leaves some great lacing.

S: gotta hand it to stone. They picked the piniest hops they could find for this one. Woodsy, maybe a little citrus, but they want this one smelling piney and that's what you get.

T: you get a little bit of the breadiness of the malt right in the front, but it gives way to the pineyness of the hops quickly. The taste of the hops doesn't linger that long though, but the bitterness does. Lot going on with this one.

M: heavy, which you expect out of a 9.8% beer, but not unpleasant. It taste as so good that you want it lingering for as long as possible. It's huge but balanced.

O: I've been off IPAs for a little while now. Not due to any sort of protest. Just making an effort to try some new stuff that's out there. So maybe it's just the fact that I haven't had many recently, but this is the best IPA I can remember drinking. It's huge, but absolutely balanced from beginning to end. I'll be stocking up on this one for the next month or so.

Enjoy by 4.20.14. Poured into a snifter. Drinking it on 4.18.14. Making it close, but I had two previously, as early as late march.

Pours an amber with a finger heard because poured aggressively, it dissipates, but leaves a ring of bubbles. Looks great
As the bottle says, devastatingly dank. The freshness of the hops is unreal. I'd have to guess cascade hops.
Taste matches the aroma. As if it came right off the bright tank. Resin and grapefruit come to mind.
Despite being a well filtered beer, it has the mouthfeel of a beer that is bottle conditioned. Well carbonated, but has a lingering aftertaste.
Overall, this is a very special beer. I will definitely purchase Enjoy By ___ in the future.

A - Pours a golden amber with a one-finger white head. Nice amount of lacing.

S - Lots of sweet citrus - mango, orange, & pineapple.

T - Follows the smell with sweet citrus. After the sweetness there is a big punch of earthy piney hops. Finish has a lingering bitterness.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Very crisp with a sticky and dry mouthfeel.

O - Very nice DIPA. Very smooth and drinkable.

Serving type: Bottle. 4/20/14. Poured into a tulip glass.

Great golden yellow coloration. Pure white 1/4" head. Slightly cloudy.

Nose immediately picks up citrus and fruity aromas ; definitely lives up to the "devastatingly dank" hype labeled on the neck of the bottle.

Extremely flavorful and emulates the aroma of the beer. Bold citrus flavors are elevated above the bitterness often associated with IPAs. A little "sting" is pervasive throughout each sip from the relatively high alcohol content, but it only adds to the dept of this beer's flavor profile.

Not necessarily full, but not light by any stretch of the imagination. Carbonation provides that iconic tingly sensation on the lips with each swig. Only issue here is that it took away from the initial flavor of the beer; all you could feel was tingling and couldn't even register the front-end of the flavor.

Absolutely fantastic Double IPA that, even bottled, is the personification of what this style of beer should be. It was a fresh beer that stands apart from the rest of Stone's line-up, which is generally overrated and readily available at many bars and liquor stores in my general area. I would recommend this specific brew to anyone that enjoys hoppy beers.
