22oz bomber - bottled 1 week ago - picked this up at my local Binny's - the bottle was still cool to the touch as I picked it up from a short stack of cases - fresh off the truck I presume!
Enjoy By 9.21.12
Huge plume of floral hops at the first crack of the cap, (4.5) the ale pours a brilliant golden copper with amazing clarity, frothy white head holds good retention and leaves great lacing on the glass. (4.5) Aromas are bold floral hops, grapefruit zest and pith, vegetative, pungent, biscuit. (4) Tastes are fresh, resiny, piny hops, pungent grapefruit, herbal, earthy, biscuity, some tropical notes, faint caramel, faint onion? (3) Mouth-feel is rather thin, moderate carbonation, resiny feel, finishes dry and bitter. Alcohol is non-existent. I couldn't believe it when I saw 9.4% on the bottle after I had drank 3/4 of the bottle! (4)Overall, I was super excited to try this one, especially as fresh as it is. I felt it could have used more of a malt backbone as the hops really stand out, although I know that's what the brewer was going for here. Still very well executed and worth the try - fresh of course.

Seeing as I seem to have had a different experience with this batch compared to 9.21.12, I figured I'd add this to the review. This one will be abbreviated a bit even though I preferred this batch to the previous. (same recipe?) (4.5) Pours a brilliant amber, excellent clarity, the frothy, ivory, head leaves some lacing on the glass. (5) fresh hoppy floral bouquet of citric hops, pineapple, mango, Citra hops?, grapefruit, caramel malt, pine, did I mention fresh? (4.5) tastes are tropical fruits - juicy pineapple, mango, papaya, grapefruit pith, earthy pine, booze, white pepper, faint creamed honey. (3) Mouth-feel is resiny but smooth, thinner side of medium.
(4.5) Overall, this experience seemed to be better than the last Enjoy By IPA, but if they're the same recipe, then who knows. My palate isn't perfect.
