Enjoy by 4.1.13 edition poured from a bottle into a (new) Dogfish IPA glass. The pour is beautiful. Clear gold in color with just a touch of hop haze with a perfect 3 finger layer of pure white foam. There's a big oily juicy hop aroma on the nose with notes of grapefruit, oranges, and nectarines.
Medium body with a wonderfully creamy feel and an in-your-face hop flavor. The bitterness of the hops is well-tempered by a big, sweet malt backbone. The combination of chewy malt and oily hops is delightful in this beer. There is a faint vegetative scallion-like taste that I find a bit unpleasant, but the citrus notes of the hops are so intense, I'm willing to forgive it. The mouthfeel is divine. It's the creamiest IIPA I've had since FFF Dreadnaught.
A very good beer and devastatingly fresh. Very tasty, but falls far short of the hype it gets. Fresh Ruination is better than this (and the Ruination 10th Anniversary Ale Stone released completely blows this stuff away).
