The Enjoy by 04.01.13 batch. Didn't mean to take it so literally, but I've had a lot of fresh IPAs to get through. Thanks to BeerThirty for yet another California IPA. Tasted 30 March 2013.
Pours a deep yellowish orange. Mostly clear, but looking through it, I can just make out my hand on the other side of the glass. One finger of almsot-white head, good retention, nice lacing. A thin stream of bubbles drifting up. Solid.
Smell is fantastic. Huge melon, grapefruit, and sweet orange. Impressively fruity, juicy and sweet. And it's smooth and full all the way through, with no holes, gaps, or sharp edges. Among the very best I've encountered. The only ones that might surpass it, in my experience, are Heady Topper, Abrasive, and Lagunitas Sucks. That is truly impressive company.
Taste is solid, but just kinda straight. A little sweet, drifting into half-chalky bitter. Not bad, but not all that flavorful. Balanced, with a little sweet and a little bit more bitter. But not a ton of positive flavors.
Mouthfeel is good. Medium-bodied, smooth and mouth-filling. A bit of stickiness. The carbonation is really nice, in a way that adds a lot to the beer. It starts out smooth and placid, then rises up in a rush of small bubbles, fuzzy, before drifting back down like a receding wave. Lasting, slowly fading away. Delightful.
A really good IPA, though it's mostly carried by the amazing smell. But I'm a sucker for aromatic IPAs, so I really dig it. If I could, I'd buy this regularly.

Great, strong IPA from start to finish....not everything is a perfect score, but this comes pretty darn close. Love the piney taste to this one. Lots left on the palate so i suggest drinking this one last or by itself. I had the 4.20.14 batch and I am reviewing based on that.
