Listing for all Stone Enjoy By xx.xx.xx IPA beers.

You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

A: Copper straw and unlike any DIPA I have ever seen. This really looks like a craft lager.
S: Floral young pine cone, sweet ruby red grapefruit, white sugar cane.
T: Fresh wet hop varietals, young nectarine, ruby red grapefruit. This is an amazimgly fresh beer that is bottled for maximum wet hop enjoyment. This is the closest you can get to fresh added wet hoped beers without being at a special beer event.
M: Absolutely perfect. Full and robust. Slick and mouth sapping delicious.
O: This is a game changer for bottled IPA's. You are obligated to try..buy and enjoy.

I had the 07.04.15 edition of the IPA. Not my favorite IPA, but a great go-to drinkable beer. Very clear golden color and good balance of hops. Curious to see if there is much variation from date to date.

First time reviewer here...

10/31/15 edition, poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tulip style glass. Pours a beautiful deep amber color with a half finger head that quickly dissipated. Smell is very pleasant, not too intense especially for a double IPA. Taste is truly excellent, wonderfully hoppy and piney without being too intense. There is a Wonderful aftertaste that sticks with you, almost bring out some fruitier (?) notes the more you savor. Mouth feel is very smooth, and the beer is not too effervescent. Overall a wonderful beer, and one of the better IPAs I have had yet.

Poured into pint glass
L: Nothing remarkable. Frothy white head, which dissipates. Nice golden sheen, a note darker than your typical lager. Little bit of lacing.
S: As soon as I popped off the bottlecap, I could smell this beer. Straight up fresh hoppiness In the glass, there is a really nice maltyness. Hop aromas are very floral and sweet, as well as fruity aromas. No alcohol aroma either
T: As good as the smell, sweet, fruity, and floral. Almost juicy in nature. Malt is present and quite welcome to bring everything home and provide balance. So tastey
F: Definately a little biting bitterness, but it is so well balanced. Actually surprised by how easy this one goes back. Smooth as hell
O: An awesome beer. Straight up really impressed with what Stone is doing with this beer.

Enjoy By 10/31/15

Starts off with a pitch perfect golden appearance and wonderful frothy white head. Fresh is certainly what the nose screams of, incredible grapefruit an floral aromas smack me in the face. Very grassy flavor, unexpected but not necessarily unwanted. The flavor still hides some of those tropical citrus notes but they take a backup role for sure. Creamy, and sticks in the mouth but does not overstay it's welcome.

Everything I had heard about "Enjoy By" was certainly backed up, the grassy flavors are not what I am used to in an IPA but it works incredibly well with the grapefruit and tropical fruits. Going to be picking up more of this while it is still fresh.

10.31.15 edition. The beer comes in an orange color. The aroma is mostly malt. The taste is sweet malt, ripe cantaloupe, and honeydew. The best batch I've had so far and my favorite beer from Stone.

Look: Awesome golden color, with a pretty good head. A good amount of lacing left on the glass

Smell: hops are very forward, smell of grapefruit time. A bit of alcohol comes with a rustic smell.

Taste: I get some grapefruit, a bit of some of some grassy notes. I also get some citrus, with a little bit of alcohol burn on the back end. But for basically 10% beer can't really complain.

Feel:Very nice Feel, all almost a bit oatmeal creamy, with a medium carbonation. Great mouthful.

Overall: I was expecting more of a troptical bomb, the grassy citrusy Is a new taste for me on this beer

I have had an opportunity to try a few versions of this beer. Coloring is a light gold and pretty much see-through as the beer is well filtered. The hop aroma is very strong from the start (when opening the bottle). There is a decent amount of citrus with added spices (maybe cracked pepper-basil combo?). There is some malty sweetness but it is not overpowering at all. Overall this is a great offering from Stone; fresh, hoppy beer!

Enjoy By 10.31.15 bottled on 9.26.15 and consumed on 10.01.15

Look: Amber color, quite clear, with a inch or so of foam that dissipated rather quickly leaving lacing. 4.25

Smell: Hoppy, with a very slight fruity aroma, followed by a pungent smell that is a little less than appealing. 3.5

Taste: The taste starts with heavy hops, then shift to an earthy grassy flavor immediately. The resin taste then comes into play alongside lemon, with a very very slight citrus note that can be easily missed as the hops begin to dominate the aftertaste. Overall very grassy and a bitterness that tastes slightly burnt. 3.5

Feel: Some carbonation but not too much, goes down smooth and has a good body. 4.5

Overall: I was expecting it to be better, not into the heavy grass lemon mix. 3.75

S: can smells the hops, pine, a little bit of citrus
T: tastes like it smells for the most part, not too bitter, can sense maybe a little bit more fruit
M: medium bodied, very drinkable IPA
O: very easy to drink IPA, also tastes very fresh and delicious. I always try to buy one of these guys when they come out in MO a couple times a year

Pours a clear golden-orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, tropical fruit, earth, and slight herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with sweet citrus juice, citrus zest, tropical fruit, berry, and slight herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with fantastic fruit forward hop characteristics that make this one a treat to drink. Great job, Stone!

Pours amber with a nice looking frothy two finger head that leaves a good amount of lacing.
Grapefruit and floral aroma. Dominant grapefruit on the front, medium caramel malt and bitter finish to round out the mouthfeel. If consumer reports was reviewing this beer it would be a best buy.

L: brilliant amber, 1” head dissipates to film S: big grassy nose T: Starts rich and creamy with some malt and then an overwhelming hop presence rises up, very well developed. Some malt sweetness in the background, A little pepper, very grassy palate, the hops are intense but not harsh, very mellow F: Creamy, medium to medium full body, medium carbonation. O: The hops flavors are a treat. The combination of intensely grassy hops over sweet malts is marvelous.

I was expecting quite a bit from this one going in - considering it was a pain to find in my area at the time - and I think it delivered. Loved the malty profile and the sweet, almost tropical notes to it, great hoppy finish. Medium body, soft carbonation. Surprisingly well balanced. I wish I'd picked up more of it!

Stone doesn't make my favorite style of IPA, but they do make a damn good one, and the Enjoy By series is one of their rare moves that goes beyond gimmick (unlike the Enjoy Afters) and guarantees a fresh IPA. So yeah, not much here that you can't get from their regular IPA or even the Arrogant Bastard which are both easy enough to find, and popular enough that, due to high turnover at most beer shops, you shouldn't have trouble finding a fresh one. But it does have nice holiday coincide-ance so you can say, "Hey look I'm drinking the 7/4 bottle on Independence Day!," but at that point we're going back to gimmick-mode, which Stone does quite a lot of.

650ml bottle from BottleDog, London (£15):
A truly outstanding beer from Stone right here, I was expecting a lot from this one going in (particularly given how much the bottle cost) but it definitely delivered and then some. There was tonne of hops and bitterness to kick things off with some touches of alcohol appearing too but it still managed to remain drinkable and well balanced with a really refreshing and highly drinkable palate; this one was well worth ever penny I paid for it.

Enjoyed two weeks AFTER the said date (7-4-15) but was still good. Tons of danky grapefruityness, orange, earthy/herbalness. Typical Stone bitterness. Can't wait to try next time around when it is fresh!

Edit - Just had the 10-31-15 edition
MUCH better!! Super fresh. Dank, chivey, hints of tropical and hints of citrus. Don't get any of the 9.4% ABV. Goes down super easy. Very much enjoyed....one of the best Stone has to offer.

At long last this bad boy is finally in my hands..

Look - Pours murky amber with a frothy two finger head that leaves a good amount of lacing.

Smell - Grapefruit pith galore with a good dose of maltiness. Very floral and mostly hop forward.

Taste - Like a three way. Dominant grapefruit on the front met in the middle by malt and a mango finish all splitting of and returning slowly and in a galaxy all their own. None taking direct command over the other.

Feel - Exceptionally juicy, though light with medium carbonation.

Overall - Ever passed its date, a top tier DIPA with loads of flavor, very sessionablr with no alcohol presence. Fantasicalexpealidosich

For this particular tasting, I am sampling the 07.04.15 batch. After breaking the seal on the 22 oz. bomber, a smell that is uniquely Stone engulfs the room: a former roommate of mine would probably call it “dank” and I wouldn’t necessarily disagree (keep in mind that he also used this word to refer to girls, burritos, parties, and – as expected – weed). Citrus fruit and pine resin quickly follow the initial fragrance of fresh-cut grass. At first sip, hops and booze smack your palate (in the playful bad-girl way that a Las Vegas stripper smacks a bachelor). Fortunately, the 9.2% ABV brew is balanced by its earthy character and fruit-forward nature, so the bitterness does not overwhelm. So Crisp. So Delicious. So Fresh. So Clean. ♫ –♫ — ♫. Time to listen to some Outkast and relish in the genius behind this beer.

I tried this one (7-4-15) several times, the first time being 6-22-15 and the last being 7-7-15. It was rather amazing how much it changed, and not in a very good way. Fresher is better.
Anyway, it had a single finger of sudsy head, fair retention and was clear and solid orange. Small collar left behind. Fresh ruby red grapefruit on nose with slight caramel and navel orange notes. Quite aromatic. On tongue, grapefruit and orange balance seem to have swapped dominance. Packs a strong bitter punch. Feels slick and somewhat syrupy, with higher carbonation, heavier body, yet quite drinkable. Leaves a funny numbness on sides of tongue. Tastes awesome, drank fresh. Expensive, a six pack cost about $15. Worth it! Maybe best IPA I've ever had.
Having tasted one a few days after enjoy-by date, I noted that it had become not nearly as potent in flavor or aroma, yet not unpleasant. Everything about it got more bitter, with a somewhat vegetable smell in background. Tasted more boozy, like a barleywine almost. Became more syrupy. Definitely not the same thing. Drink them fresh!

Bomber of 7-4-15 opened a few moments before the 5th! Almost spoiled..phew.

As I poured hop aromas are evident intense pine and citrus accompanied by sweet caramel malts. Taste following suite hop forward and steady with a balance unrivaled. Love this series and will continue to pick up the releases. Next is Halloween I believe?
