You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

General: This was the 2/14/14 version of Enjoy By. It was from a bottle swap with a friend, enjoyed it out of a chalice style glass.

Appearance: A dark golden color with a whitish head. The head doesn't persist all that much but it's still nice looking. A lot of very small bubbles throughout.

Aroma: Grassy hops are the primary aroma of this one. I like it but it's a little bit much. I want to pick up some of the other aromas like the malt and some fruits but this is really just a grassy hop bomb.

Mouthfeel: Good mouthfeel, appropriate carbonation levels

Taste: This one tastes like it smells. There is a slight alcohol touch to it but really the biggest, in your face flavor are the grassy hops. There is a little malt backbone that stands up a little bit to the hops but it's definitely an IPA

Overall: It's not bad, not my favorite beer but certainly something that I would have again when it comes out next time.

I'm not going to bother with the details; I put this up against Pliny the Elder any day. I would love to do a blind taste test.

It's that good.

It even has the same apricot smell going on. I like to start these cold (in a frozen glass) then enjoy the changes as it slowly warms.

Something about brewed-for-freshness IPAs. <3
