You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

Very good beer. Unique and quiet delicious. Pours light but drinks heavy as expected. Definitely not for the wee lads!

Drinking the 12-26-14 in early December.

Very solid DIPA. Poured golden with good head and heavy hop aromas.
Worth it if you see it for about $6 or $7 but isn't really any better than other really good fresh doubles - what makes it worth while is they put so much effort into getting it into all markets as fresh as possible - I am drinking it 11 days after bottling and I am in Chicago so that is impressive

Stone "Enjoy By 12.26.14 IPA"
22 oz. brown glass bottle
$7.99 @ Whole Foods Market, Plymouth Meeting, PA

I felt remiss in not getting to this beer sooner and as I've had it for over a week and I've only got 24 days left so I figured I'd have to try it even though I wasn't really in the mood for a double IPA. I wasn't looking for something heavy and bitter, but if Stone actually went to the trouble to make sure this beer got out so quickly then I owe it to them to drink it !!!

Fortunately for me it's not a heavy, bitter, and alcoholic double IPA. It's actually golden in color, and it's got a medium-full body with a moderate carbonation (kind of English in character). The malt is pleasantly straightforward and just lightly sweet and subtly biscuity and caramelish. Nor is it overtly bitter. Don't get me wrong, it's got bitterness to it, but it's not that harsh and raspy bitterness you sometimes get. What I was in the mood for, and probably what really swayed me towards opening it tonight, was hops - and it's got 'em, but again, I was surprised, I thought I'd find it drenched in resinous, piney, and citrusy hops but it's actually quite smooth and refined. All of those attributes are present but they're not "in your face", even in the aroma. It's also a bit minty, softly grassy, earthy, and gently leafy or tea-like, but the mildly citrus pith and gentle tropical fruit are what really define it in the flavor. It's really rounded and supple, leaving it remarkably drinkable for the style. The one thing that reminds you that it is a double IPA is the alcohol which peeks out here and there, especially as you progress through the serving. Still, this is one dangerously drinkable beast.

Enjoy by 12.26.14 bomber.
Very good looking beer when poured into the glass but the aroma was a bit weak considering this is a Stone IPA. Decent hops taste but nothing overly special, but what really turned me off was the soapy like aftertaste this beer leaves behind. Looking back for an extra dollar I could have bought a six pack of some other IPA that's better or at least just as good. I personally am getting a bit tired of companies thinking that just cause they put their beer in bombers makes it priceless when they don't make the beer itself worthy.

A DIPA that absolutely gets it right. Too many just don't have strong enough hop flavors and the malt ends up taking over, making them more like a hoppy barleywine. Enjoy By brings the huge, dank hop smells and flavors that unmistakably put this in IPA territory. Also appreciate the novel way to focus unavoidably on freshness through the prominent date on the bottle.

Bottled on 11/13/14 Enjoy By 12/26/14 enjoyed on 12/2/04

A: Very light for a double ipa slightly orange but mostly a blonde clear amber nice lacing and thin head.
S: Fresh Hops, Pine, hints of tropical fruit
T: Fresh hops right up front but not bitter, citrus. Easy drinking for a 9.4% beer
M: Almost spicy with hops but smooth for such a high %
O: Try this beer if you love fresh hopped ales I thought it was delicious and I don't usually go for high % beers.

Picked up a case of twelve bombers enjoy by 12-26-14. Bought it 11-26... Five days old! Super dank and juicy. Nice unfiltered hazy yellow. Has a unique creamy undertone that I only recall from fiddlehead mastermind. Super high end shit. A privilege!

One of the best tasting beer that I've had. N: the kick of the citrus smell right away and hoppy. H: thick and frothy and leaves a lace. T: so delicious, that citrus note hits hard, with the hop kick in the end. This beer tastes fresh and I had it a week after the just by date. Overall such an awesome beer!

Enjoy by 12/16/14; bottled on 11/13/14.

Actually had 3 of these on separate occasions. 2 were great; 1 was completely overrun by a smell and taste of onion.

I really enjoyed the 10-31-14. I would give it 10-31-14 a 4.5.

The 12-26-14 not so much. Missing are citrus smells. It smelled more like an wet sock with a slight hint of skunk. And the taste wasn't much better. I actually poured the 2nd half down the drain.

Had a family member ship me a case of 8.16.14 from the east coast. Totally worth it. Wonderful IPA demonstrating notes of citrus, pine, sweet. Balanced with nice carbonation. Truly enjoyable.

Tried to 12.26.14 on draft. Still a great IPA, but did not have all of the pronounced scents and flavors as the 8/16 version.

Recently downed some 4.20.15 - wonderfully dank and piney. Absolutely delicious, and went down too easy for such a big IPA.

"You gotta try this" - the truth

Also, the beer does change from release to release, but stays in the same vein - very delicious, fresh, floral and slightly piney. If you grab this past the enjoy by date, don't drink it. Remember, they're always releasing new batches so don't sell yourself short. Grab the freshest and go to town. Grab two if you can, and always enjoy with a hops loving friend. Especially if you're a malt person. They'll steer you straight.

Really Amazing clarity of this beer. Impressed by the lack of hop haze given the aroma. Big aroma maybe simcoe? Has that hint of cat pee aroma but pleasantly fresh. Light malt backbone and big hop resin flavor. Really drinkable fresh IPA simplistic in it's goodness. -cheers

12.05.14 version. Pour from a 22. This one seems to have more tropicals than citrus profiles found in earlier versions. Not sure if they tweak the contents for different batches, or if I am under the influence of what I ate before drinking this. The hop profiles were, as expected and hoped for, the dominant flavors early and across the tongue. Finish had a little boozy element to it. Would rather that be less pronounced (beer was at good temp, not too cold). Looking forward to next batch.

4.20.14 version: also tropicals up front but with a nice grapefruit in the finish, but with a boozy little pop right at the back announcing the 9+ABV.

Golden orange in color. One and a half eggshell white head. The nose is not as present as i remember in the past. Orange juice, lemon, pine, pepper, there is a subtle earthiness and a small amount of malt sweetness. The taste is very thick and juicy. Earthy hops and sweet malt. Less citrusy than i remember. Great ipa.

Poured into a snifter from a bomber. Review from 7/4/14. Enjoy by 7/4/14.

Color clear gold with a thick white head. Nice sticky lacing. Nose is grapefruit, pine, and herbal hops. Just a touch of sweet malt. Flavor is very hop forward on the palate. Lots of resinous hops and tropical fruit. Finish is long and bitter hops. Medium body with a lot of hop oiliness. A very delicious DIPA that I've had before and will definitely be having again.
