You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

this is the best beer i've ever had and I drink alot of beer. Amazing how they've dry-hopped the SHI@#$ out of this beer to give this the nose of a handful of fresh picked hops! But, this beer stays away from most of the bitter hop aromas and is overall extremely floral, hoppy but easy and drinkable.

a - golden color in the glass

s - the MOST aromatic beer you will ever smell, which is whole point of this beer. Total floral (citra) hop aroma on the nose. Like you walked into a field of blooming, springtime hops. FUCK@#$ unreal.

t - good medium body and easily drinkable. clean finish with a nice crisp floral hops on the tongue, surprisingly void of any bittering hopes.

m - med body, easy.

o - 10/10. buy as many as you can while you can get it.

Pours a brilliant brassy hue with a foamy cream colored head. Patches of sticky lace.

Scent is noticeable on opening the bottle. Pinesap and resin, grapefruit, orange peel. Pungent hop notes.

Taste is even better. Minty hops. Spicy hops. Piney hops. Earthy hops. Dank oniony hops. Pineapple hops. Floral hops. Sure there is a crisp lightly sweet malt in there somewhere but who cares. This is a hop beatdown.

Mouth is juicy and slick with a dry finish. Not a thick heavy beer - refreshing and easy to drink.

Tremendously satisfying. Absolutley love it. I wish I could drink this year round.

This Enjoy By 11/12/2013 deserves my first beer review.
A: poured into a IRS 17 oz. glass. Amber color with little foam. Nice lacing.
S: strong hops but also really fruity,
T: hoppy as expected, but the presence of tropical fruits balance out the bitterness. Finish smooth and tasty.
M: Smooth with the bitterness and sweetness lingering
O: Very good beer, a must-try IPA if you are wondering what IPA is. Once you had it, you will probably find others to compare. My favorite IPA beer so far.

Finally enjoying this sought-after beauty on its first time in PA (I think), thanks to my awesome girlfriend for picking it up!

2.14.14
Poured into snifter; light orange, clear, very light for the style (following the trend of others). Moderate white head that fades quickly.
Smell is awesome...onions, tropical fruit, citrus, pine, bitterness, awesome. This is like a west-coast version of Hop Ranch.
Taste is also like a west-coast Hop Ranch...onion, fruit, pine, citrus, bitterness, earthy...damn. Sweet, fruity, oniony, awesome IPA. Fresh as hell and delicious.
Mouthfeel is again, surprisingly thin and clean for the %abv and style.
Overall, awesome. I'm super-psyched that my girlfriend found this. Delicious stuff!

4.20.14
Fluted snifter; clear dark orange, fluffy white head.
Smells amazing...bright tropical fruit, mango, sweet onion, weed, candy sugar, mint, herb.
Taste...wow. Sweet peach, mango, onion, apple, mint, herbal, sugar, tangerine, grapefruit...incredible. The hop flavor packed into this beer is mind-blowing.
Mouthfeel is light-bodied and surprisingly clean.
Overall, again I'm blown away. Stone has raised the bar.

Finally decided to review this beer after many many bottles and a few on-tap. This stuff is good, like REALLY good. I'm surprised it isn't rated higher than it is really. This is a serious Imperial IPA. It tastes like one, smells like one, etc. Its probably a little sweeter and malty'er than any other double I have had, and I personally attribute that to the freshness. This months bottle, 04-20-2014 is probably the best one I've had. I'm sure that's just a coincidence... If you have not tried this offering from Stone, try it out ASAP. You probably are not going to find anything better anytime soon. There are few others out there that compete, but are not nearly as READILY AVAILABLE as Stone Enjoy By. Tastes absolutely fantastic straight from a bottle, but if you must, pour it into a glass and do all that looking and sniffing, then gulp it down all the same. Enjoy!

A: shiny, dirty orange body, finger head white sticky head, amazing
long sticky legs in my pint glass.

S: grapefruit, peach/mango nose, mild pine, hint of sweet malt

T: grapefruit/mango, hint of pine, firm sweet balanced
malt, long sticky bitter finish!

M: med/heavy mouth, mega sticky/Über oily!

O: OH MY WORD! This Double IPA is very underrated. Forgive me

Batch #7 - 05.17.13
My first Enjoy By. Would have liked to do a comparison between others, or even with Ruination. Fantastic aroma - poured into a pint glass, almost clear yellow in color with slight head, lacing down the glass. Quite enjoyed this (no pun intended) and am looking forward to more!

I've been told that "Enjoy By IPA" varies from batch to batch. In that case, I've had a taste from an amazing batch, because this was as exceptional as an IPA gets. The nose was fruity, floral, not too herbal or piney; I won't bore anyone with talk of lacing or head retention, lets cut right to the flavor. Oh my god. The marriage of fruity and citrusy hops is mind blowingly delicious and so different from the herbal, piney IPAs that Stone is known for. If you are a fan of IPAs, you must try this and see for yourself. I dream about this beer at night and think about it when I'm thirsty. I'm hooked!

Poured from bottle to tulip.

A - Amazingly clear golden honey orange with a nice frothy white head. Spectacular.

S - Super fresh hop smell. Filled with pine, citrus and a very mild onion / garlic undertone that makes it just smell super dank and complex.

T - An immediate dominant hop flavor hits the tongue with mostly tropical fruits but with pine and onion more apparent on the finish. No alcohol taste whatsoever.

M - Medium bodied thickness that really coats your mouth. Carbonation and body feels just right on this one!

O - My favorite Stone offering and one of my favorites overall. Such a classic Stone west coast hopped beer that stands high and above most others out there.

Poured from a 22oz bottle 11-09-12 into a tulip.

A: Pours a clear golden orange with a 1finger off white head. Minimal retention with fair amounts lacing.

S: Smells of huge amounts of earthy spicy resinous pine.

T: Close to the nose. Huge spicy, earthy, resinous pine up front. Evolves into sweet bubblegum and malt. Fair amounts of bitterness throughout.

M: Medium body and carbonation.

O: Overall this is an amazing DIPA. Threw me for a loop, at the smell I was expecting that spicy resin hop, mid taste it evolves into this amazing bubblegum sweetness. I applaud Stone for this delicious brew and idea on drinking super fresh beer.

This review will be for the version with the 11.09.12 date. We're going 22 ounces split multiple ways on a Sunday afternoon. On to the beer:

The pour yields a beer which is a lighter gold, looking most resemblent to the color of cider. A small head is formed on top, and a few spots of lace are left on the glass. I figuered that the nose would say hops, cuz this is Stone and it's an IPA, but I wasn't expecting this. HOPS!! Fruity, delectable hops. I haven't looked into the hop bill of this recipe, but I want to say New Zealand hops are the majority in this one. Big fruit salad notes, also big on canteloupe, pine, passionfruit, and mango. This could be good.

For a beer with 9.4%, this beer seems much lighter than that, yet retains all the good flavor of such a strong beer. The alcohol is hidden extremely well, and flavors similar in the nose are coming out in full force in the taste; passionfruit, orange, canteloupe, sweet varieties of tropical fruits. And for such a hoppy beer, it's not bitter at all. The beer's body is medium-full, with a very smooth texture and appealing finish.

Where did this come from? And where was I in California when this was released? I was exteremly impressed with Stone on this creation. Time to set the clock when the next version will be released...

Had this at GABF back in October. From multiple sources, all on draft.

Its been a few years since Ive had Pliney the Younger, but that was the last beer I can remember that had such an aggressive nose-full of wonderful hop aroma. From a foot away you can smell fresh pine tree in a glass.

The taste is equally epic. We had this alongside Pliney the Younger (wonderful things happen at GABF). I know its an unfair comparison, but wow was EB over-the top in hops and piney mouth feel by comparison. Just a huge beer for hopheads.

Nice appearance. Superb beer. Wish i had one right now.

Stone's "Enjoy By 12.21.12 Double IPA". A brew to drink before the world ends! 22oz bomber. 9.4%ABV. Bottling date of 11/16/2012

Appearance: Pours a light golden honey color. This beer is ultra-clear and not hazy in the slightest. 1/2 inch white head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring.

Aroma: Very fruity. Smells of pineapple, mango, grapefruit, light hint of pine and leather, big citrus notes, finally a slight bready/biscuity aroma.

Taste: Oily hop resin, piney, big citrus, almost an earthy/woody taste. It's spicy, herbal, and quite dank.

Mouthfeel: A medium-body. Light and dry with a slightly peppery finish with loads of delicious bitterness that coats my mouth for a few seconds before disappearing.

Overall: This beer masks its 9.4% ABV very well. Dangerously drinkable for a double IPA. And for a 10 day old bottled beer? That's a great win for fresh beer as time is usually not the friend of IPA's. This beer is quite delicious and I had the foresight to purchase 2 more bottles. The aroma of this Stone beer is just phenomenal.

Poured from a 22 oz bomber into an IPA glass.

A - The beer is a lighter, transparent gold.

S - tropical fruity notes, some citrus.

T - nearly full flavored sweetness up front that is followed by a bittery and resiny aftertaste. A nice dry finish. It hides the booze well for a 9.4% beer.

M - Not overly aggressive on the taste buds, but a very pleasant, drinkable double IPA with a very nice dry, bitter aftertaste.

O - Enjoy By is one of my favorite IPAs. It isn't the hop symphony that a beer like Heady Topper is, but Enjoy By really hits the hop appetite. I'm more of a bitter, dry tasting IPA guy, and Enjoy By certainly falls under this category. For me, it hits all the spots.

Best IPA I've had to date. Had it as a sampling at a beer distributor by me. Picked up a few singles of other beers, left, drove halfway home and turned around. Picked up a Growler.

Batch: Enjoy by 5/17/13
Consumed on 5/15/13

At first sip it was surprisingly good.... good hop punch, balance and a crisp tongue snapping finish.... the thing that really got me is how drinkable it was and how on my ride home I just couldn't get that goodness it left out of my mouth... it's the type that you wanna continue drinking... a big standout to me was how ridiculously fresh it tasted. I definitely recommend anyone to try this... even if your not an IPA fan... you may just turn around to get it after all.

Poured from a 22oz. bottled about 12 days ago. Smell is beautiful and everything I want in a double IPA. Pine, grass, citrus, lemon, very small hints of alcohol. Taste is similar to how it smells. Opens with the piney/grassy taste, citrus fruit hits and finishes with a slight pear flavor. Very minimal alcohol flavor here. Very well hidden. This is my favorite beer and is my #1 recommended. Find it. It's worth it

chilled 22 ounce bottle poured into glass

Fantastic beer! This light colored ale poured a thin head and had light lacing. The beer reamins true to its American IPA/Double IPA style with a strong hop smell and pronounced hop taste. Stone asks that the beer be enjoyed while it is still fresh, but I wonder how might age.

My only disappointment was that the liquor store limited sales to just one bottle per customer. My bottle was gone in a flash.

I've heard others descripe this as 'juicy'...now I know what they meant. Beautiful aroma of citrus and pear. Perfectly balanced. A nice smooth mouth feel that only accentuates the malty sweetness on the back of the palate. A 'must have' in these waning days of summer.

It poured a nice golden hue with a subdued white head. The aroma of hops jumped out of the bottle with fruity citrus notes, a bit of pine and even the dank hops I know and love. There are obviously a lot of hops which is to be expected from a Stone IPA, but they were handled very well. Loads and loads, but balanced so as not to give you the bitter beer face or palate wrecking experience of some IPAs. There were tropical fruits and citrus on the front end with the pine bitterness coming through on the back leaving a nice bitter coating on your palate. All of these great hop flavors were riding a danky hoppiness that held it all together. The Enjoy By IPA really handled the hops with a more delicate balance. One of my all time favorite IPAs.

Another excellent beer by Stone, shame they're so hard to find & will only be around for a month.

Inhale deeply right after a fresh pour, and the hops will blow you away. Like a freshly-mowed field of hops. "Is there anything in here *besides* hops?" you'll wonder...

A touch more carbonation than I like, but I got over it.

The 9.4% really sneaks up on you...the alcohol is well concealed. I'm still not sure where it was hiding.

Overall, great beer, well worth the hunt. I'll be sad to see it disappear.

Had on tap at Tj's in Paoli

A: Dark golden hue with a 1 inch head that lightly dissipates as you drink. Very clear almost opaque in color.

S: The grassy notes of the beer are prevalent at the front of the nose followed by a lot of citrus notes following. Grapefruit and Pineapple are the most noticeable fruity notes that come through in the nose

T: Like the smell, the grassy notes are up front. This beer is very fresh and crisp and gives a very clear and delicious taste. The citrus/ fruity notes come through next with pineapple and grapefruit being the ones that come through most. The hop bitterness lingers on the back end and stays with you long after the sip in a perfect, flavorful way.

M: The beer is very crisp and carbonated but not heavily so. It doesn't hinder the flavors of the beer and offers a very clean finish. It tingles the tongue and stays with you after the sip.

O: A great IPA. Very fresh and all the different flavors mix together really well and come through very prominently.

A-Golden with a nice white head

S-best smelling IPA I've ever had. Pure grapefruit goodness. Somewhat floral. Pure awesome.

T-comes in with an amazing flavor of crisp grapefruit hops and grains and smooth bitterness. It's a beautiful IPA. Very smooth and refined. After-taste of tropical fruity hops. Great one.

M-medium creamy carbonation with a semi-dry finish

O-extremely impressed and pleased. I tell you I was craving quality hops like no other and this satisfied that craving as well as possible. Such a big smile drinking this. The high abv is lost. Tasting light and smooth.
