You have in your hands a devastatingly fresh double IPA. While freshness is a key component of many beers - especially big, citrusy, floral IPAs - we've taken it further, a lot further, in this IPA. You see, we specifically brewed it NOT to last. We've not only gone to extensive lengths to ensure that you're getting this beer in your hands within an extraordinarily short window, we made sure that the Enjoy By date isn't randomly etched in tiny text somewhere on the label, to be overlooked by all but the most attentive of retailers and consumers. Instead, we've sent a clear message with the name of the beer itself that there is no better time than right now to enjoy this IPA.

4.20.15. Very good. Right on point with its price equivalents/ peers, sculpin and 90 min. I enjoyed it from a 6 and looking forward to the rest by 4/20.

Lightly hazed golden amber, moderate cap of sticky white froth. Scent brings strong notes of grapefruit, tropical notes, pine needles and alcohol. Taste is obviously big on the hops - grapefruit and pine up front, ctirus, floral and grassy in the rear - malt backbone lightly crackery but covered up by the dry bitterness and alcohol notes. Fuller side of medium bodied - heavy on the palate but no too sticky or chewey. Solid all around fresh IPA, not quite in the league of the top dIPAs.

Pour is a transparent golden yellow with a relatively small white head, dissipates fast, and doesn't leave a lot of lacing.

Aroma is the first sign that this beer is going to be great. The Hops stand out. Fresh hoppy citrus smell...what fruit or citrus is a mystery to me.

Taste is very hop forward...hops...hops...mysterious fruit flavor , hops. As strange as it sounds that this is a good taste, I also feel as if I could clean my oven or scrub my shower with this stuff. A fresh , clean taste that lingers on the palate... amazing.

Medium bodied mouthfeel that leaves a resinous feeling ...and again, the fresh hops linger!

I am very impressed with this offering from Stone. Not many beers live up to the hype, but Enjoy By is Legit. If you see it on the shelves, scoop it up because it won't be there long.

Enjoy by 9.13.13, enjoyed on 8.23.13.

Bottle to tulip.

A: Straw color that is slightly golden. Aggressive pour yielded a healthy head that retreated to a frothy rim and minor film. Excellent lacing.

S: Moderate to strong fragrance. Bursts of resin, citrus, grapefruit, straw, and pine. Very well balanced aromas. A tiny bit of booze as it opens.

T: The citrus that is noticeable on the nose turns mostly to pine and resin in the taste. Very strong hop bitterness. Not much booze in the taste, well hidden, even after it opens.

M: Slightly harsh, but a clean finish. High carbonation.

O: Not in my precise IPA wheelhouse, but I certainly enjoyed this beer. I will certainly enjoy it again next time it comes around. I really enjoyed the multi-layer aromas. This beer changes slightly as it opens, but its better darn good crisp and cold.

Enjoy By 7.4.15 - This poured a slightly translucent copper colour with a finger thick white head that dissipated into small islands fairly quickly. The nose obviously screams hops with a earthy pine taking the lead, followed by floral and citrus notes. There is some caramel malt around the edges trying to fight it's way though with minimal success. Now on the taste those malts do come forward but are still surrounded by pine resin and citrus fruits and finished with a even bitterness. The mouthfeel is nice and makes the beer quite refreshing. Looking forward to having this again.

Enjoy By 4-20-15

Look - Pours a deep golden honey with fluffy white head. Small bubbles, decent distribution, good retention, good clinging. 4.25 paws.

Smell - Very dank aromas of green onion, kitty litter, stonefruit, honey, chamomile, strawberry and kiwi. 4.25 paws

Taste - Lots of green onion, citrus rind, lemon drops, sage and peach with a pleasantly bitter finish. Somewhat boozy, with a solid honey sweet malt backbone. 4.25 paws.

Feel - Fairly viscous, lightly syrupy, medium bodied. Tingle on tip of the tongue. 4.25 paws.

Overall - I always enjoy an Enjoy By. 4.25 paws.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a tulip. This is the Enjoy By 12.26.14.

Appearance: rich golden hue with a light haze and a light effervescence. Head is a finger of frothy ivory foam, leaving a nice lace on the glass. Not bad at all.

Smell: fresh, sweet, grassy, green hops; lighter than I was expecting in intensity, but the freshness is just superb.

Taste: big fresh hops really make all the difference. Lightly citrusy, grassy and just a little bit tangeriney; quite well done indeed.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a good creaminess for the style.

Overall: this is quite a good beer. Something about the composition of the hops isn't my favorite, but the freshness and craft quality cannot be disputed. Kudos on that.

A - Clean clear light copper. Small near white head, lots of cling lace.

S - Cat pee, malt. Perfume.

T - Malt hits first, but is surrounded by the cat pee hops and the perfume.

M - Medium body, good carb, almost oily slick, nice residual flavors and balance.

D - Pretty tasted and happy to have tried it.

3.4.12 - Tried the Enjoy by 4.01.13 tonight, which is a newer version. Body is heavier, more citrus in the smell and taste, taste is bigger. I think this one is better!

I like what Stone is doing with this branding... definitely educates the consumers and retailers about the necessity of freshness. Anyway... poured into glass, crystal clear brilliant gold appearance with soapy white head and lots of lacing. The aroma is pungent and fresh with tropical hoppy goodness along with some pine, sap, orange, apricot, and grass. Taste starts with moderate tropical fruits and caramel sweetness, followed by piny bitterness along with and herbal and syrupy component. No booziness here, nice balance. Mouthfeel is moderate to heavy with medium carbonation. Overall, one of the better IPAs I have had from Stone. Super fresh and super delicious.

Enjoy by 4.01.13 - 22oz bottle poured into a stemless wine glass.

The beer pours a nice copper color, clear texture with a few bubbles rising to the top of the glass. A nice soapy white head rises above the beer, almost a finger high, that has decent retention and a decent amount of sticky lacing. The aroma is very tropical, lots of mango, pineapple, wildflower, grapefruit, tangerine with a bit burst of earthy pine and hop resin that finishes with sweet alcohol. The flavors are very nice, lots of tropical fruit, big mango layer, tangerine, grapefruit with lots of backing caramel malt and alcohol sweetness, lots of bitter, resinous pine sneaks out at the finish, balances the flavors nicely. The body is nice and thick, very juicy with a nice dry finish.

Verdict: A great DIPA from Stone, arguably of their best hoppy beers to date. It's a very boozy, but has a great hop profile. So happy to see this beer as a regular brew, if only they would bring back Ruination 10th Anniversary. A hop heads dream beer.

12.26.14 version. Quite a frothy, white head, with lots of lace. Very hoppy with citrus and floral notes, particularly grapefruit. Sweet with a bitter finish. Well-carbonated and refreshing, with a long finish. This is a solid IPA.

$7.49 bomber bottled on 4/12/13. This is the Enjoy By 5/17 iteration, the first to come of Louisiana.

A: Thin, very white head. Paler malt than customary for a DIPA, but Stone IPAs are usually on the lighter end of the spectrum. Some bubbles releasing from bottom.

S: All citrus. Peaches. Mango and pineapple as it warms. Some alcohol. Big and raw.

T: A flash of peach before the bitterness spreads out. Not extremely bitter, though there's not a lot of malt balance here. It's a hophead's delight.

M; Heavy, slick. Lingering bitterness, obviously.

O: Perhaps the beer that brings the issue of IPA freshness to the mainstream. Also a beautifully executed West Coast-style DIPA that's heavy on citrus aromas and light on malty sweetness. Not a terrible value at $7.49 and still very much around New Orleans in its second week since dropping.

22 oz. Bomber poured into a Maudite tulip. 12/21/12 batch

Enjoy by pours a crystal clear star color with a fingers worth of head. Tons of citrus notes on the nose up front with some spicy on the back end. There is a touch of malt up front that explodes into citrus and biting bitter finish. The beer is super easy to drink. I really hope stone decides to full time with this beer rather then just certain regions because I want to drink this all the time.

Enjoy by 04.01.13 pours clear and brassy, rising two finger head with good retention and leaving attractive lacing all over the glass.

Terrific aroma, best part of the beer, rising notes of pine, resin, citrus and tropical pungent mangoes and pine apple. Pine resin is huge here, building and dank, some hint of underlying cereal malt.

Huge quantities of hops impart a huge resin and dank pine with some vegetative herbaceous flavors near the back end with a steady bitterness. Lightly sweet malt is clean and steps aside easily. Warming alcohol and the hops really coat and desensitize the palate quickly.

Adequate body and carbonation. Coating hops make the palate numb to a drying sensation. I feel quite a bit of alcohol warmth coming through.

It's about time a craft brewer really focused on the freshness of hops and really pushed the process of keeping ipas fresh to their distributors. Enjoy by is a top notch hop bomb, aroma is stellar, the taste is very dank and pine heavy, terrific DIPA. The best I've had from them thus far.

Poured from 22oz boomer into tulip glass. 1finger fluffy head dissipates quickly. Golden, almost cloudy color. Smell: not much cold. A little alcohol and grapefruit as it warms. Taste: apricot, peach, grapefruit at the end strong grapefruit finishing into bitter hops. Mouthfeel: smooth and fresh, not syrupy or sticky. Light crisp carbonation. Overall: terrific IPA, very we'll balanced and full of flavor. wish there was a bit more complexity, but very enjoyable!
