12oz bottle poured into Founders snifter.
A- Pours a jet black with a half finger of creamy slightly foamy mocha brown head that recedes fairly slowly and leaves some spotty layered lacing. Decent carbonation of consistently rising carbonation bubbles.
S- Dark chocolate, roasted malts, some mint that balances with the chocolate and almost gives a bourbon characteristic to the aroma due to the sweetness and high abv. Smells good and is a little bit above average aroma strength.
T- Dark chocolate, some very light hops, a faint roast, finishes with some leafy almost medicinal mint (which comes out more as it warms) with a light bitterness. Mint lingers as a light aftertaste. Flavors blend nicely together however the mint is a little bit too leafy and prevalent for my taste and in my opinion takes away a little bit too much from the chocolate stout qualities.
M- Medium bodied, nice carbonation, easy to drink.
O- This was a nice brew, however it was just a little bit too minty for my taste especially as it warmed up in the glass. It was a nice concept and very interesting to try, but probably not something that I would like to drink all the time. I'd recommend trying it out especially if you like mint, but I wouldn't recommend buying a ton of bottles.
